Cornerstone OnDemand has helped consolidate our training into one platform for easy access and use for our users. It can be tough to get people to use Cornerstone OnDemand but once they start using it, it is easy for them to navigate the system. It is nice that the system does not change all that much with updates and makes it pretty user friendly. Overall, I am satisfied with Cornerstone OnDemand and hope to implement new features that they have to offer in the near future.

Having a large company that is growing, it's nice to have one location where we can put all our trainings, and training materials. It is easy to search and access those things as well. I love the functionality it has to link videos, SharePoint docs, and much more with the URL option in adding materials.
I do wish it was a little more user friendly with those who are not as technologically trained as the younger generation. and adding a little more integration options for the agricultural side of businesses would be nice as well.

As a medical device company, we are highly regulated. We must keep training records for all employee training that relates to their performing their job duties and tasks. Historically our company used different learning management systems in different product areas as these likely came with an acquisition of that area in the past. In 2018 our company set on a mission to steamline our organization to a single LMS. After a thorough analysis of the leading LMS vendors, Cornerstone OnDemand came out on top due to its ability to meet the compliance needs of a regulated company such as ours, in a way no other vendor could. Implementation has been challenging as we are not only learning a new system but also changing the way we operate by bringing onboard areas long left on their own. So some unique ways of working have been challenging to solve with the system as customization is not possible as some ancient 'on premise' solutions used to offer. However, we still feel Cornerstone OnDemand is the best tool on the market for us.

  • Back end functions are complex and unforgiving; takes us 1 month to train a new administrator properly due to the complexity of the system.
  • The navigation and user experience are not modern or easy to use out of the box. It requires a significant investment with partner firms to configure the UX.
In my opinion, technical support from Cornerstone OnDemand has been what is expected from a software company, but not good enough for what is required in supporting training customers in regulated industries. We continue to work with Cornerstone OnDemand to address these shortcomings and they are committed to finding a way to meet our demands.

We utilize Cornerstone OnDemand to support all learning across the organization as well as offer training opportunities to an affiliated organization. It assigns training based on need of the staff as well as is used for optional training and registration into larger organization sessions when needed. It solves out need for compliance training assignments and tracking as well as support the administration side and professional development opportunities.
  • Automatic recurring assignments are easy to get that refresher training out without needing to assign it fresh each time.
  • Reporting 2.0 makes it easy to write and share your reports with just selected filters. Making it easy for people receiving it to just change what they need to see.
  • Learning Admin Console makes it easy to peek at what is going on in your portal and open up connected reporting when needed.
  • Success Center is a great resource for getting peer answers to questions and learning about the releases and suggesting changes that should be added to the roadmap.
  • Their Product Support can take a long time to respond and/or give incomplete responses so you have to go back and forth to get the correct response.
  • Certifications exist but are in bad need of an update to make them more user friendly as they are the only way to set an expiration date.
  • Reporting 2.0 can have more latency issues then other parts of the system and it is always when you really need to grab that report.
I think CSOD is great for most organizations it does have a hefty price tag so making sure the robustness is leveraged is important when choosing the correct system for your organization. I appreciate that they have quarterly releases so the product is getting updates often versus some other LMSs when that is less frequent.

Cornerstone OnDemand is a great LMS and can handle just about anything you can throw at it. It's powerful, comprehensive, and easy to use. They still have ground to make up though on some of their other modules and in their customer care center. I would point out analytics, API extensibility, and Global Client Support as areas of improvement. I use and support the learning portion of the product. It's great for getting training into the right hands at the right time.

I have used the learning performance of Cornerstone OnDemand for 6 years and find that it is a great support in managing compliance learning. The ability to create complex group and assignment criteria is really beneficial for the organizations I have worked in. Cornerstone consistently update their offering and has a space for clients to offer suggestions for improvements (these are sometimes acted on but sometimes a bit slow). I have recently started to use the performance module, which interlinks in many ways with the learning module. We have found it beneficial for a learners development journey to use these modules together. The ease of adding topics and skills in the user profile to customize learning on the home page has also worked well and means learners are shown learning opportunities that suit their needs.

A downfall is the content anytime can be very American and does not always transfer well.

[Cornerstone OnDemand] is used organization wide. We have a complex, co-op type of setup with many subordinated divisions that function as isolated business entities. We get regularly audited and have highly individualized needs. Cornerstone [OnDemand] enables us to have unique settings across many areas for a variety of divisions. Unique performance reviews, welcome pages, and training needs across divisions enable us to operate each division uniquely.
  • Reporting: completely customized reporting modules allows us to have targeted and specific analytics
  • Automated learning: The learning assignment tool enabled automatic and varied learning assignments to a variety of audiences.
  • Performance reviews: Enable us to have very complicated and automated performance review assignments.
  • The forms functionality is old and very "windows-95" looking, would love to see this improved.
  • Building performance reviews can be very "steppy," we would love to see you be able to do this in the flow of work.
  • I would also love to see the ability to customize the look and feel of the custom page widgets more.
Personally, I believe [Cornerstone OnDemand] is well-suited for a huge variety of different situations. If you have a large variety of divisions/departments, Cornerstone's functionality enables targeted assignments, performance reviews, and reporting capabilities with customizations across divisions. The ability to essentially 'silo off' divisions from one another enables us to have very specific and customized usage in these divisions, which function as independent business entities.

As a highly regulated company, we have a significant amount of compliance training that our employees must complete on an annual basis. We also need to have a robust reporting system to track completions and monitor compliance. We have used Cornerstone OnDemand to effectively organize all of our compliance training, including creating dynamic groups based on job roles, hire dates, and management roles. The level of organization the platform provides allows us to easily and effectively assign training to the right groups at the right time.

We also use the platform for onboarding newly hired employees or those who are transferring to a new role. Again, the way we are able to organize the training and the employee groups allows us to quickly and easily assign their onboarding training and have it ready for them on Day 1.

The reporting features give us many options to provide on-demand reporting to management teams to track their new employees' progress in their onboarding training or to monitor timely completion of their required compliance training.

  • Great options to customize the look and feel of your "home page" to best meet your company's needs and goals.
  • Ability to customize the transcript view for learners (i.e. when Completed training will move to their Archived transcript, what to do with Inactive training on transcripts)
  • Creating a new version of a course can be cumbersome when it is a part of multiple curricula and even inactive curricula. We are finding situations where learners are getting a new version of a course assigned on an old curriculum that was deactivated a couple of years ago, causing confusion on reporting.
  • Manually adding members to Communities is a little confusing, as there is no clear indication of what to do to ensure access to all folders & documents within the Community.
  • Certifications can be confusing at first, especially if not utilizing them consistently. We only did one or two and found them to be a little confusing both on the administrative side and the learning side.
I feel Cornerstone OnDemand is a great solution for companies that have a large amount of compliance training that needs to be assigned and closely tracked. The features of dynamic groups (based on specific user criteria) allows you to target very specific audiences. The assignment functionality gives you great flexibility on when the assignment runs and how often, and also provides many options for due dates (static date or dynamic date - x days from hire date, date assigned, etc.). This has allowed us to have a clear and consistent user experience for both our newly hired employees and our seasoned employees.

We use Cornerstone OnDemand as our LMS. We load, configure, and assign our compliance training on the platform and perform the necessary reports. This allows us to meet the strict compliance regulations of the financial industry. We also implement our performance management process and succession process via Cornerstone OnDemand. This allows us to stay consistent.

Cornerstone OnDemand is an industry leading Learning Management System and I think it excels in delivering compliance training as well as 'push training'. Cornerstone OnDemand has the ability to sync a data feed with Oracle HRMS, which we have found to be particularly useful once configured. We also have LinkedIn Learning and have found that this system integrates nicely with Cornerstone OnDemand.

We use Cornerstone OnDemand as CORE in 7 countries with the complete suite: Core, Recruiting/Onboarding, Learning and Performance. We need a unique database in the whole group, because every country uses different software to manage people data. The main purpose is to implement the same processess in all the countries with our business to improve our competitive advantage. We chose Cornerstone OnDemand because it was an organic software in one suite, but the last news of the new leathership team makes an unexpected turn to other goals through the inorganic acquisition of other products.

Cornerstone OnDemand is our global training platform, currently available to 25,000 employees across over 350 international hotels. In order to provide a personalized experience, the platform is accessible in 16 languages, and the training content is available in 23 languages. With it, we have been able to offer a global training catalog for all our employees, and we are working on bonus management through Cornerstone OnDemand.

CSOD OnDemand is deployed across 95% of the company, being used as our main LMS tool. The majority of us are using it to follow the mandatory trainings but there is also an important percentage of users employing the extended solution (meaning all LO types with the ILTss). It is mainly for compliance purposes to follow mandatory and regulatory trainings.

Cornerstone OnDemand (CSOD) has been a part of our company's success over the last three years and has allowed us to deliver training programs for employees, track employee progress and development, and help to identify high-potential employees. Through CSOD we have been able to create learning pathways for our employees based on their role, starting with the compliancy courses for ann employees and then branching off by each role into our custom-made courses to support them further through their onboarding. CSOD allows us to create curriculums that unlock when an employee has completed the prerequisite and to auto-assign our courses based on the hiring timeline; which are both very useful aspects to help our learning paths be a success.

  • Options to add on quality courses created by CornerStone directly to blend the training with your own.
  • Great reporting resources and the ability to send reports and pull dashboards to be on top of course relevance and completion.
  • Overall the system takes time to become an expert in.
  • Employees need training on how to use the platform as there are a lot of "clicks" to accomplish what they want in the interface (for example, withdrawing from a training).
  • When the platform is not working properly, it requires a lot of time to have support from CSOD.
Overall my score would be higher if we were able to get the support we need WHEN we need it. When things work well, the platform is nice to use and has a number of options for my team but when things do not work properly, it causes a lot of backend work and causes a heavy administrative role on our part to make up for where CSOD lacks. To really benefit from the platform, you need an expert on your team to help you navigate the platform and use it to its full potential. I highly recommend having a member of your team complete the CSOD training courses.

It is being used by the whole organization in many workflows and internal procedures. From hr we try to launch all new projects within the cornerstone would be the employee portal.

We use Cornerstone OnDemand for all of our learning management. We house created courses and assign courses from the library (which has an additional fee for access). Our clients require that we have all of our employees take certain types of courses each year and this is all housed and maintained in Cornerstone OnDemand.

Cornerstone OnDemand is our global Learning Management System solution. It is centrally managed out of our Training and Education department, with second-level learning admins throughout the various global regions. The system allows us to manage the corporate training record for all employees, for both online and classroom instruction. It also provides us with a social learning platform for cohorts and a tool to complete observation checklists.
  • Single admin console with granular control over user access and reporting. They continue to keep the admin in mind when rolling out new features. Giving us additional tools and improvements to more easily manage a large organization of learners.
  • A complete solution. Cornerstone OnDemand is a human performance management solution. This includes: compensation, on-boarding, performance reviews, succession, training, and social interaction. All of the areas of the product are cohesively tied to one another for convenience and powerful cross-feature functionality. It has been developed organically from the ground up, so everything works together for a competent experience.
  • Increasing support for mobile learning. Our field is relying on mobile devices to stay connected. Cornerstone OnDemand continues to improve their support for mobile through web browser support and mobile apps.
  • Global Product Support. Their support team can be slow to respond and resolve issues. They are constantly blaming it on growing pains. However, that cannot be an excuse. Every company wants to grow bigger and they need to adjust their support model to accommodate it.
  • Multimedia support. Cornerstone OnDemand does support video learning and embedding videos on custom pages, however, they just rolled this out to everyone and it has some catching up to do. Competitors have supported this feature for quite some time and are ahead of the curve on it.
  • Responsive design support for Welcome and Custom pages. Cornerstone OnDemand is making much of their system responsive for mobile use. However, the page builder that is used to make your Welcome and Custom pages has not been updated for some time. It doesn't always support some HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript functions. The work-arounds to get some designs to work correctly is troublesome.
When looking at Cornerstone OnDemand, look at the entire package, even if you don't plan on licensing everything. This will allow you see what is possible and how the company has built a cohesive product. Additionally, inquire about their road-map. They have several features that are already planned for this year that make it an even better product. Cornerstone is well suited for medium to larger businesses. I believe there are other products that would work for a smaller business that cost less. It becomes better as you license additional modules for the product.

We use the LMS for onboarding and continuing education for our internal enterprise and we manage external enterprise training as well.. We can report on each of the division. We use the LMS to train external enterprise how to use our company software. The information we can report to the stakeholder and leadership using dashboards.

We utilize Cornerstone OnDemand as our in-house Learning Management System. We have it as a "University" of sorts that houses the training for our employees. During Covid, our company expanded dramatically. We went from approximately 30 employees to 130 in the span of a year to a year and a half through acquisition and partnerships with other similar companies. This has created a mix of cultures within the company and different ways to achieve the objectives from each of our locations. The creation of our "University" allows us to train both current and new employees in exactly how we want things done, how we want to treat our customers, and how we want to be perceived by our customer base. Using Cornerstone OnDemand allows us to standardize that training from top to bottom and establish the "JMA Way" for our team members.

Cornerstone OnDemand is fantastic if you want or need to push out standardized training to your company, team, or other specific groups. Cornerstone OnDemand would be suitable for almost any size organization. Cornerstone OnDemand might be a little cost prohibitive for very small organizations. I tend to balance cost vs benefit per individual and for smaller groups, it might not be as cost-efficient.

We purchased the learning management system piece of the Cornerstone. Currently we use it for the "required training" but are transitioning into a self driven professional development system as well. We use this system for our whole organization, globally, and the system addresses our need for proof of training during federal audits.
  • Client Driven - Cornerstone values the opinions of the clients that have their hands in the system daily. Suggestions from clients often become new software/functionality for all clients to use.
  • Community - The accessibility to assistance in a time of needs is uncanny. There is always someone (CSOD employees, CSOD clients, etc) at your fingertips in my time of need.
  • Robust - The customization capability within the system is unlike any other. We have custom pages in order to drive our associates where they need to be and what will fit their needs the best. Integration with other items (Lynda.com for example) to allow maximum impact for our employees.
  • Support - The actual support structure (when a case is logged) is a bit slow.
  • Cost - everything can be done for a cost. There are some things that can only be done from CSOD side and they can provide that to us for an additional fee.
Cornerstone strives to make a system that can be molded by each client and used by their associates. While there is no one size fits all system, CSOD does a great job and bridging that gap. From the in person user group meetings to discuss among peers to the online community where questions and answers to those questions are flying every minute. Cornerstone wants the system to work for their clients and makes changes regularly to fit those needs.

Cornerstone is leading for learning management and is great for learning content. Most of the user-frontends have a modern UI and are mobile-friendly. The Reporting 2.0-Module is great and still evolving. The interface options for data import are really smart. On the other hand, it´s really tough to use Cornerstone as a master data/core system. The forms- and workflow engine is really poor (new workflow engine upcoming in 2022), the OrgCharti-Engine is very rudimentary, the engage-module has lots of room for improvement. The recruiting module is solid, but not a frontrunner.

We transitioned to Cornerstone Learning 2 years ago to consolidate all of our Enterprise HR systems onto one platform. This consolidation allowed our business to decentralize some of the administrative functions, and streamline reporting to a single system.

We use Cornerstone to deliver compliance, leadership, role specific, and professional development courses.

We serve over 14 thousand coworkers globally, including the US. UK, Canada, and India.

We use the Learning Module, which is a very advanced tool. This allows us to be compliant in a highly regulated environment as well as deliver development training in a contemporary setup.
  • Great visibility of the history of trainings

  • High security
  • More than one solution to a lot of queries
  • On the job training is rather a limited option
  • Emails should be much easier to setup and also be more flexible (e.g., vary depending on the provider or location)
  • Social Learning aspect; hope it will change with EdCast
  • More advanced integrations with tools like Teams or Zoom
If you need a robust tool to manage learning in a big company, then this is your tool. It can be applied to various businesses, but it works extremely well for those who are compliance-dependent.

If you need more flexibility and care more about user experience than having a 100% accurate record, then maybe Cornerstone OnDemand is not (yet) that fancy tool that you'd be looking at.

We use Cornerstone to develop and engage our employees. We also use it for compliance training. Over users interact with the cornerstone platform from our team. All compliance training and our performance process are done through Cornerstone. It has really helped us have all employees complete compliance items and performance items.

Cornerstone is great for large-scale learning needs. If you need to get training out to a bunch of people, it's a great tool for assigning and tracking. If you're looking for an AI-based tool for performance, it's not ready for that. It's improving, but it's not quite there.
