Informatica MDM has been part of my organization for the last 1 year and ever since it was successfully deployed it has been very helpful and improved all our business aspects by making sure our data is safe through the data cleansing capabilities with the match and merge audit trails functionalities which are very robust. Also I like how this tool is able to store all of our business data where it guaranteed our business retains control over private data. If for example a mobile device is misplaced or robbed, Informatica MDM can remotely lock and clear data hence safety is guaranteed. I also like it gives us assets tracking so that we are able to know which worker has which device. This tool allows our IT team to provide updates and replacements to our workforce mobile devices as needed.
  • Informatica MDM data cleansing capabilities are very valuable.
  • The match and merge and the audit trail functionalities are very robust.
  • From multiple masters of data that are present in Informatica MDM helps us to improve our financials analysis and planning.
  • The support team is outstanding and more so unparalleled Support that is proactive and available 24/7.
  • I think in my point of view this tool needs to improve the data catalog and data marketplace.
  • Another dislike is the oldish looking UI. Should be fixed and updated.
Informatica MDM is a complete MDM solution, from ingestion to data exposition. This tool helps us in gathering customer data, and also it makes it possible for us to support our customers relationships and build customer-related strategies to improve their experience which helps to drive sales geometry and growth and customers satisfaction. On the other hand of price is relatively competitive.

It's been 2 years of use by the organization of the Informatica MDM tool and it has collaborated and surprised us since the beginning. We had a lot of trouble configuring and deploying it at first but then things got better and now everyone is familiar. Informatica keeps your organization's gold data stored, organized, and consistent for greater corporate security in a master data management role.
  • Easy to integrate with other systems and applications through its API.
  • Accurate and consistent master data management.
  • High-efficiency technical support and quick response to tickets.
  • The system is easy to collect and analyze information and synchronize with other applications.
  • Complicated and difficult to understand initial setup. Need expert help.
It is a robust software with great management and data model. It can be difficult to learn how to use and deploy the first time but the mapping and features work very well and have optimized our productivity and cost savings. We can customize reports, create rules and integrate with other applications. Overall I recommend it.

Informatica MDM is a program with which we can count on and support each other for the best management of our data and better business management, this program is an advantage since it is its imposition for all the skills and resources to carry out all the management operations of my company, it is a pleasure to have you as an assistant.
  • This program raises us to a professional level where we have better versatility to control all the media of my work and have a correct response for each scenario.
  • It is essential to be right about the destination and development of my data, Informatica MDM is here to simplify all these processes for its users.
  • We are a bit disappointed with the need and dependency of this program on a good internet source, otherwise it is not possible to fully execute its functions.
  • The amount of space that this program requests is incredible, and it expands every time with a new update of your system, this affects other applications and programs that you have installed.
Informatica MDM is a program that promises to greatly help each of its users with the management of their data and other types of scenarios in the administrative and IT area. The price is polite and you can buy it very easily in your market. For us it has been of great help and support, that is why we do not hesitate to recommend it.

It is incredible how important Informatica MDM has become in my workplace; it has given an incredible boost to my performance and the handling of all my data; I really like this program because of the very professional infrastructure that it has added to my job to express and manage all the sources that come into my department.
  • The control and excellent handling of all my data are a highlights of this program. Informatica MDM is a program that gives me the management that I deserve in my work.
  • This software has enough technology to create and modulate the data at my convenience, and each of the functions of this program contribution to the management of these processes.
  • It is unfortunate how this program has a couple of limitations in terms of insertions; it does not have the ability to agglomerate and archive the data in real-time by groups.
  • To have automation functions, the program is very limited in performing one task at a time, compared to other systems that perform functions simultaneously.
Informatica MDM is a program that will recover all the development of your work and simplify it much more professionally; the management and mastery of all your master data are incredible, and the support you receive from this program to be much faster and sure in your work it's amazing, that's why we really like to recommend this great program.

We are using Informatica MDM for different types of use cases in our organization. We are using it for filtering out the duplicate and redundant data that. We are regularly dealing with heap of data generated from various sources like sales, technical, marketing and other department and a lot of data get s duplicated because the departments are unaware of changes by others. Apart from this we use it for different use cases like populating data to various third party sources, report generation, pulling and pushing of data. It is best tool we are using and it is providing incredible result and driving our revenue growth. Management is very much satisfied with the performance of this tool. Our work has now become easy because filtering of data is a big task and now with this tool we are achieving it in very less time.
  • Populating of data on various third party tools and solutions
  • Removing duplicate and redundant data
  • Automation of task which is great feature as it take more time when done with manual effort
  • There is criteria for defining cluster of informatica MDM
  • Proper documentation and syntax not available on website because we need them for various integration
  • Deployment is complex and needs time according to configuration
  • Licensing cost is too much expensive
MDM is very helpful in places we are dealing with a large amount of data and we need to filter out redundant and duplicate values. It is very helpful when we need to populate data on third party solutions. We can filter out, pull, push the data according to our need on various integration. This solution is best and helps in driving the revenue growth. The automation provided in doing task is very helpful and saves lot of time

For master data management, Informatica has the ideal solution. It is incredibly user-friendly and simple to implement. Because it has increased the dependability of our data, it has enhanced our organization. These days, data is your most valuable asset, so you need to use these tools to make sure that it is trustworthy and clean.
  • The ability to have a single view of the data and a 360-degree perspective of the relationships is the nicest aspect.
  • It's an excellent tool for tracing system ancestry.
  • Informatica MDM fits in well with their other solution stack
  • The work must be saved at regular intervals; if occasionally this is missed, there may be a chance that your data will be lost.
  • Some support subjects need to get better.
Without Informatica, the complex mapping would not have been possible because I would have had to write a lot of code, which is much easier to do in the software's user interface, which ultimately increases productivity.

We were hoping to use this as our data management solution. We wanted something modern and robust however in my opinion this is not what we found when using this product.
  • Some UI is easily used
  • Configuration Migration
  • Works well if other informatica products
  • Some of the UI seems outdated
  • Overall feels rather basic
  • Clunky system
If you just need something basic, this could do well for you however once you start finding that you have more needs, the issues start to show. In my opinion the UI needs help and that alone is a problem for me as it makes the whole system feel and behave poorly.

We are using Informatica Master Data Management (MDM) to manage the organization data as a single repository system. It helps to ensure that data is complete and correct which in return provides data reliability. The data comes from various sources and in various format thus Informatica MDM helps in collecting and sharing the data across the other enterprise sources. It also helps in analytics decision making and overall management of the data.
  • Data Reliability
  • Integrating the data from various data sources
  • High Scalability
  • Should be improved to deal with mislabeled data
  • Should be able to process large dataset fast
  • Unknown data prospects such as Poor data quality can be improved
Informatica MDM is well suited in various scenarios such as it helps in managing overall organization data and provides data consistency and reliability. It provides 360-degree relationship between suppliers, customers and products. Informatica MDM acts as a 'data as a service' and provides high scalability and security.
Informatica MDM can be less appropriate where we have lot of mislabeled data and inconsistent records.

It exposes API in both SOAP and REST which makes the job on our end so much easier. By being able to maintain the database in an appropriate structure, we're also able to compare month over month and year over year. Informatica solves a number of problems that others can't with their MDM took, including using the best ETL tool on the market and integrating the results into their EDC data catalog for end-to-end MDM.
  • MDM Data Management.
  • Easily maintainable database structure.
  • Work well with other informatica tech stack.
  • Visualization
  • Ease of use - there is a learning curve.
  • Integrations of systems having to be downstream.
We have used Informatica MDM since the beginning of our project, and I can tell you from my experience it is one of the best MDM tools out there in the market. Not only does it store your master data which comes from different sources, but also it performs data cleansing also on inconsistent data. And one of the most highlighted features is its core component, that’s the hub console, not only useful for developers but for data stewards also with an easy-to-use UI and feature-leveraged functionality. This software is packed with lots of features, so let me highlight a few of them here: 1) Data insertion feature, you can either load data in batches or in real-time. 2) We can not only task manual but also we can automate the many tasks from the batch group. 3) SIF API is the most useful feature when it comes to connecting with middleware software or external applications.

  • Connecting to wide variety of sources.
  • ETL
  • Cloud solutions.

In an era, to manage the load of data collected from clients and other sources. Managing this data manually has been tedious and time-consuming. My team uses Informatica to save on cost & time for the management of data collected in our cloud. We use it to merge and track reference IDs collected from files and tags. Similarly, we use it as a relationship roadmap within the team.
  • Manage and track reference data of files (i.e. tags, title, comments, date of creation, file size, & more).
  • Talmbout drawing lineage between system; informatica does it neat!
  • It enables easy access to checking and editing mappings
  • It has a great tone of complementing other stacks well.
  • Stores excellently: Master data from different sources
  • Has Hub console useful for both developers & data stewards.
  • Complex installation process
  • Scanty manual on modification
  • Not suitable for automated single-task management for end users
  • Initialization is time consuming
  • Improved visualization
From use, Informatica MDM is the appropriate software for mid-to-large-sized companies. They will find the software efficient & effective when: they need to expose API in both SOAP & REST, to facilitate easy operation of users on the application. Similarly, it features the ability to master data, implement rules, and make changes to the system to suit the end user. It follows that, In a meta era like now, Informatica is a solid metadata management tool. Very good software is not compatible with all company sizes, and so is the case of Informatica. It is not suitable for small-size companies that do not log large data, as they'd not maximize the potential of the software.

Our e-commerce platform uses P360 to create and maintain hundreds of "micro-stores" for our customers. P360 can handle multiple different stores with separate inventory and allows us to provide a curated experience for our customers.
  • Allows you to implement detailed business rules to apply to your data.
  • PIM is well integrated and has excellent workflow capabilities.
  • The user interface can be made more friendly for the business user.
  • Lots of detailed screens for the developer interface. This makes it sometimes difficult to find options.
Informatica Product 360 is a well-integrated product with native data quality and workflow capabilities. The user interface needs some work, although the web version is more intuitive, it lacks full functionality.

Large amounts of information are captured, generally structured, at the moment, for purely analytical purposes, where precision or a high level of quality is not an essential requirement. We use the management of several repositories in wholesale banking creating a "Golden Data" that could be used by all the bank's branches and offices in the world. Also, we try to use an Enterprise Data Governance framework. Not work properly.
  • The central console is quite intuitive and easy to use.
  • Middleware connectivity is integrated in a correct way, from external applications (Using SIP API) or internal apps.
  • The loading time is not fast enough when we talk about a lot of data.
  • The validation rules contribute to slow down the processes in the created repositories.
If you have other Informatica products in your infrastructure, for example, AXON for Data Governance, and Entity 360 you can have better MDM usability. One of the most useful advantages is that the repositories can be stored in the cloud through connectors with the destination database, as long as there is a good transfer speed and confidence in the security of the data in the cloud. I would recommend using hybrid clouds and not trying your luck with critical or sensitive data (GDPR) The overall experience has been good. On many occasions, it is a bit complicated to use and we have had to go to support without the response obtained being very satisfactory. I am not recommended for critical data or decision data in a bank.

1) Informatica is being used by the entire organization - it's a global deployment. The platform is addressing the harmonization, cleansing, de-duplication and centralization of customer master data from multiple sources. The MDM system secures a unique customer code in the enterprise. Also, it serves as a single source of customer master data for all-consuming systems: sales, supply chain, finance systems in the company. [It] serves as a central system of record for [all] customer data.
  • Maintaining a golden record per customer entity
  • Managing the full customer hierarchy starting from the company entity to the lowest ship to/bill to level used in sales/supply chain and financial transactions
  • Integration capabilities - Real-time, synchronous integration of master data in a transactional scenario between systems and services, to batch interfaces for the transfer of master data in bulk
  • Workflows and a strong UI for data stewards for data cleansing and de-duplication
  • User Interface needs improvement, although it has improved substantially after the last version
  • Complex customer hierarchy for big enterprises needs some custom development
1) Big enterprises with multiple sources of customer data requiring harmonization 2) Enterprises requiring a high degree of cleansed and de-duplicated customer data 3) Enterprises requiring to manage complex customer hierarchies 4) Enterprises having a decentralized set of enterprise systems or having a complex IT landscape with proliferated customer master data

In our organization, it's mainly used for keeping a single point of truth for user data--that is, customer details and such. The "first" storage of this data can be anywhere, as in, most applications that store user data have their own database. Informatica MDM functions as a spider in this web of data, fetching, combining, and cleaning all this data before pumping it into its "single point of truth" database.
  • It has exceptional functionality for customizing and combining data, like filtering and unifying. This is important if multiple sources can contain data from single customers.
  • It has a very advanced flow editor where you can add logic and rules in a clean flow-like environment.
  • It can connect to almost any datasource, with unlimited scheduling options.
  • As far as I can see it exclusively uses the concept of "point to point" connectivity for fetching data. What this means is that Informatica MDM must have "knowledge" of all other systems, and keeps a direct connection to these systems. This is bad practice in environments that would benefit more from a microservice architecture. In those cases, it's especially bad, because not only does this break the SOA architecture, but it also "promotes" the idea of "point to point" connections among developers. The "point to point" mentality is the single most important danger to any SOA environment.
  • It's very hard to use! The learning curve is really steep. Also, it's really boring by design: having to open a large application, learning all of its intricate details, maintaining all connections and scheduled data load moments means you need developers that are seriously devoted to this application. This means those developers are kept from working in the field they know best and caused them to become developers in the first place, which is Oracle/Database developing. This makes it hard to find employees willing to perform this function.
If your environment is clean and well organized, but at the same time has many application domains with their own data sources, Informatica MDM can be a really good factor in maintaining "single points of truth" for all this data. However, the more application domains you have, the less "clean" your environment becomes. If your application domain landscape consists of multiple technologies (C#, Oracle, JAVA, web-based, windows services, console apps, third-party tools, etc), your environment becomes a real nightmare to maintain unless you implement a service-oriented approach. And this is where Informatica MDM fails completely since it promotes a "point to point" scenario.
At least this is my experience. It could be that Informatica MDM supports a service-oriented approach, but I have not seen this. I could be that the developers in my organization who have expert Informatica MDM knowledge are just more "point to point" oriented. But even if that is the case, it's a valid argument against Informatica MDM, since it's already hard enough to find developers who are dedicated to this product, it becomes impossible to find SOA oriented developers.

We are using Informatica Cloud MDM to facilitate the mastering of our account data. We just recently decided to move to Informatica Cloud MDM from our previous, third-party, MDM tool. I was not a part of the decision to purchase Informatica Cloud MDM, but I am part of the core team of 7 who are implementing the solution. We are using Informatica Cloud MDM to achieve several functions:
  1. Find duplicate accounts.
  2. Merge those accounts.
  3. Enrich account data with information from Dun and Bradstreet.
  4. Consolidate accounts where possible to minimize storage overhead.
  • Highly customizable functionality via their web interface or via Salesforce Apex code.
  • Their 'out of the box' account manipulation jobs required very little modification from our team. What modification that was required, was very simple and straight forward thanks to their details and intuitive configuration screens.
  • Their concept of Task Flows (a scheduled or on-demand job) leaves a bit to be desired. While one is able to perform very basic operations and lookups within this interface, it is extremely limited. For our particular implementation, we had several account fields that required both an expression as well as a lookup to be done, but in the Task Flows you are only able to do one or the other, not both. Informatica provides another option, which is a Mapping, which is far more customizable, but due to its complexity, caused a significant increase in development time.
For organizations where their data mastering is fairly standard and requires very little customization, Informatica Cloud MDM is an excellent solution. I believe in this scenario, the organization should be able to 'hit the ground running'. However, if your organization requires a highly customizable solution for your data mastering, prepare yourself for a long dev cycle. I'm not saying that Informatica Cloud MDM would not work for these organizations because it is working for us. What I am saying is be cautiously optimistic about the time it will take for you to implement the solution.

The client I was working was living and breathing in Salesforce. Thus came Informatica Cloud MDM to secure the consolidation of accounts within Salesforce and other external source systems. The primary purpose was to have a defined linkage between source systems i.e. native Salesforce and other external source systems to produce a single version of record with trusted and standardized quality of data. This can help the organization define their metrics and thereby their goals in reaching a sales target.
  • If you live and breath in Salesforce it's one of the best packages which can be used. The maintenance of a multiple source system hierarchy is one the coolest features.
  • Real time syncing from Native Salesforce to MDM stage area is achievable and is one of the most vital features.
  • The data can be standardized and cleaned. It helps creating the linage between data and can be represented easily.
  • Certainly one place which it lacks is multiple match rules for one entity. We can live on one match rule for an entity.
  • Too many configurations
  • If possible unmerging records functionality at least for native Salesforce
As I have mentioned if an organization lives and breaths in the Salesforce.com platform this is one of the best packages to have for creating golden records. If the organizations are less dependent on Salesforce, I don't see much use of Informatica Cloud MDM.

Informatica MDM is used by our organization to synchronize data between our legacy customer relation management system and our new customer data management system, Salesforce, as we did our initial implementation of Salesforce. We sourced data from the legacy system, used the tool to identify the best version of the truth for our customers and to cleanse associated addresses. We then published the master data to Salesforce. We also used the tool to keep the systems in synch. When changes occurred in one system the data would flow into our master data management hub, and based on the trust and validation rules, the master data would be updated. All CRM systems were updated with the master data.
  • Allows you to implement detailed business rules to apply to your data.
  • Works well with any ETL tool, but especially well with Informatica PowerCenter.
  • Provides a browser based interface to facilitate ease of use.
  • Mapping within the tool can be difficult. But that is slated for upgrade with the next version.
  • Many detailed screens for the developer interface. This makes it hard to find options sometimes.
  • Address validation sometimes leads to incorrect results. This is my biggest issue with the product.
I think Informatica Master Data Management is well suited for identifying the best version of the truth for master data. It provides a means to easily set trust and validation of multiple source systems to fine tune the resultant master data. It is by far a leader in the master data management space.
