Overall Satisfaction with Heap

We use Heap to link offline sales data to online visitor data. We also use Heap to analyse user behaviour without relying on IT for coded event tracking of specified actions.
  • Hands down winner when it comes to tracking website actions and puts GA to shame in this dept.
  • One header snippet tracks every visitor action that is possible on your site. Page views, video play, file downloads, form submissions are all tracked as soon as you install the tracking code and when they say everything is tracked, they mean it. The data available is staggering in comparison to other tools.
  • The interface looks like it has been designed by a Zen Master - super clean, easy to navigate and flawless.
  • The support is outstanding, I've sent Ravi (Heap support) emails as 9pm at night and had a reply in less than 2 mins. We previously tested Kissmetrics and had to wait at least 24 hours for any reply and their support is sadly lacking when you go beyond simple issues.
  • Heap has bent over backwards to help us customise the product to our business. I asked if there was any way they could add an option to have the auto export monthly and they had that functionality added in less that 24 hours.
  • Standard integration with external database systems, CRMs and call tracking would be a nice feature.
  • Heap allowed us to show how much money our B2B business was making from website leads and which channels drove the leads.
  • Less time waiting for IT to implement tracking code
  • All the data we could ever need in one need system
We tested Kissmetrics but Heap was superior in nearly every way. Sure, Kissmetrics has functionality to integrate with an external database linking your website data to orders and revenue but when it came down to it this functionality is less than perfect and Kissmetrics support we're not very helpful and didn't seem to know much about this functionality. In the end we just couldn't trust handing over our data to Kissmetrics as we had too many concerns about the DB integration and support in general.

In the end we achieved the same result by exporting Heap data and linking it to revenue data - it's a little bit of manual work but it works and we're in control of it.
We rely on Heap for essential data on website performance and how our website traffic contributes to revenue.
Great if you want to track everything without relying on IT. Great if you want a bargain - the current fee is value of money. Suited to people who love data and know how to make meaningful business decisions from data.
