Overall Satisfaction with Mailchimp

I use Mailchimp to send out my monthly newsletter. I've used it since I launched my newsletter three years ago. It's easy to use and free. I can focus on creating the content and not worry about the formatting, because in Mailchimp I can replicate my campaigns.

Mailchimp also allowed me to create a pop-up subscription form for my newsletter. That has helped me grow my email list. Most of the latest subscriptions have come via that form.

I really like it and often recommend it.
  • It allows you to easily design the newsletter and offers different templates. Very easy to drop in text and photos.
  • It is free as long as your list is less than 2,000 - which is really important to a small business owner on a budget.
  • You can set it up to send out a "welcome" message when new people sign up for the newsletter.
  • Hmmm...I really like the ease of use. I guess it could maybe automate more things - it could "learn" your habits and anticipate adding the date automatically, etc.
  • I wish it would be easier to replicate my monthly campaign.
  • I wish Mailchimp would add more ways to grow my list.
  • It's made it easy to connect with my email list which allows me to keep in touch.
  • Without Mailchimp, I'm not sure I would've been able to start a newsletter. It's so easy to use and free.
  • Having an email list that I own is important because even if social media channels go away, I will always have my email list. It's owned.
I really haven't tried any others...I started out with Mailchimp and it's been so easy to use and met all my needs. I wouldn't have a need to go with any others unless/until my list grows much larger. I might consider it then. Emma is one I've heard about that I might look at.
I find Mailchimp easy to use, but now I want to change up the design of my newsletter and I haven't found that as simple as I would like. I need to play around with it more to see if I'm going to be able to do what I want to do.

Adding the pop-up subscription form was SO easy though. That has helped me grow my subscriber list. Very happy about that.
I use it for my email newsletter. I haven't tried the other things it can do. I might consider trying it for those things. It's free for what my business is currently using it for. I don't know the costs to add/try other features. I may look into that as I continue to grow my list and perhaps experiment with more email campaigns.
I love the analytics Mailchimp provides. I can see how many people are opening/reading the newsletter each month. I'm so happy with how easy it is to use and that it's allowed me to produce and send a monthly email newsletter. I can now recommend this to clients because I've been using it myself for a few years now. I've learned how easy it can be to do this. I don't know if I could've done it without Mailchimp. The list started out with slow growth but it's picked up and Mailchimp has made it easy for me to encourage new subscribers. Thank you, Mailchimp.
For small businesses, it's ideal for newsletters and other campaigns. Free and easy to use. I often recommend it to my clients and to other freelancers. I just wrote a post about my favorite free and low-cost tools and included Mailchimp on that list. I'd rate it a 9 out of 10.

For bigger businesses or those with bigger lists, it might be more expensive. If you have more than 2,000 people on your list, you might want to evaluate other solutions.
