Infrastructure and Application Performance Monitoring (APM)

Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds AppOptics

SolarWinds AppOptics is being analysed to be used as a potential Cloud Services Monitoring tool - and on a side note, also being analysed on how effectively AppOptics can be leveraged to to APM things such as AppDynamics and Dynatrace does. So we are proposing SolarWinds AppOptics to our client as the new technology monitoring tool for cloud infra, primarily.
  • Cloud Service Monitoring
  • New Technologies Monitoring such as Containers Docker
  • APM
  • GCP is not Supported
  • Oracle is not Supported
  • No Integration available with Service Now
  • Cloud Services Monitoring
  • Microservices Monitoring
  • Application Tracing
Everyone used to know the names of AppDynamics and Dynatrace when it comes to APM or Application Tracing Monitoring. Since these tools were the evolver of this particular technology, I still believe that these tools are the market player. But SolarWinds AppOptics is not less, and it is becoming a good competitor with less cost and same features in the market. Also as we have seen SolarWinds Development team has done brilliant in learning the users requirement and evolving their products that make more trust in SolarWinds AppOptics.

ROI

Yes - AppOptics is a competitive APM i.e. Application Performance Management and Cloud Resources monitoring solution and due to its low cost as compared to other product it is a great choice when it only concerns the Applications, Code Level Monitoring, End-User Monitoring along with AWS and Azure cloud resources monitoring. Some products which were replaced by AppOptics are Dynatrace due to Cost, AppDynamics due to Cost, Datadog due to capability etc.
  • Price
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
  • Prior Experience with the Product
Product Usability and Price were the main factor behind bringing this product.

Product Usability - We have been practicing Solarwinds Orion Platform for multiple customer for their Network, database, server and Applications monitoring and based on great experience we decided to try AppOptics as well and found this a great product also with low cost being new to the market.

SolarWinds AppOptics Support

Solarwinds AppOptics is rated as 9 out of 10 and the reason is there are still few areas where AppOptics needs to improve such as Service Now Integration, GCP Cloud Support, Better Dashboard visualization for application transactions flow. Other than these feature everything is there in AppOptics and that's a reason given 9 points out of 10.

Using SolarWinds AppOptics

As far a usability is concerned for AppOptics, it is just as matter of few minutes away even if you start from scratch, as all you need to do is register on the site and you will get the URL and password. And after this all you have to do is follow the instruction, as per the configuration wizard (tool tip) within the console for various technology such as SQL, IIS, .NET
