G Suite

G Suite is an office suite by Google. In addition to the typical productivity tools, G Suite also includes email, document storage, identity management, online surveys, and meeting tools. Microsoft Office 365

Microsoft Office 365 is a monthly, per-user subscription model office suite that can be accessed and synchronized between a desktop, tablet, and phone. Business class email, online storage, collaboration (Teams) and meeting tools (Skype) are also included. Microsoft Office 365 users on TrustRadius are pretty evenly distributed between small businesses, mid-size companies, and enterprises. Reviewers recommend Microsoft Office 365 for the capabilities of the productivity tools, Exchange email, as well as for their integration with OneDrive cloud storage.

Microsoft 365 Business

Microsoft 365 Business is a monthly, per-user subscription based office suite that targets business users. It bundles Office 365 with Windows 10, advanced security integration, basic customer management tools, and offers integration with a host of third party cloud apps. Microsoft Office 365 users on TrustRadius are pretty evenly distributed between small businesses, mid-size companies, and enterprises. Users recommend Microsoft 365 Business for their productivity tools, collaboration tools, technical support and security.

LibreOffice

LibreOffice is a free open source office suite product from The Document Foundation. It includes tools for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, and creating diagrams and drawings. LibreOffice uses the OpenDocument format (ODF) as its file format but also supports file types from other major office suites. Half of the LibreOffice users on TrustRadius are from small businesses. TrustRadius users recommend LibreOffice because it is free and avoids the high licensing costs of its competitors.

What are Office Suites?

An office suite is a collection of productivity software used for business or personal reasons and includes separate tools for spreadsheets, word processing, and presentations. Generally, all the products within a suite have a similar interface to simplify tasks for the user. Products within the suite also usually embed well within each other.

Today, more and more office suites are accessed through an annual subscription, either installed or accessed via the cloud. This is compared to the traditional model that was a single purchase of a license to be installed on a local machine. Office suites are also moving to offer more tools in addition to spreadsheets and word processing, such as meeting tools, collaboration tools, and data storage.

Top Rated Criteria

Products included in the 2019 Top Rated Office Suites list must have been in the top tier of their category TrustMap as of September 12th, 2019. To qualify for the Office Suites Top Rated Award, products must have at least 10 reviews written within the past year, a TRScore of at least 7.5 out of 10, and must receive at least 1.5% of the traffic in their category. Every reviewer is verified and every review is vetted before publication. Products are plotted on the TrustMap based on end-user data, including users’ likelihood to recommend scores as well as buyer research patterns.
