Announcing the Top Rated Workforce Management Software for 2019

April 3rd, 2019 10 min read

TrustRadius Top Rated

Today, we awarded the 2019 TrustRadius Top Rated badges for Workforce Management Software. The TrustRadius Top Rated awards are the most trusted in the industry because they are an unbiased reflection of customer sentiment, based solely on user feedback and satisfaction scores. Top Rated awards are the voice of the market and are not influenced by analyst opinion, the vendor’s company size, popularity, or status as a TrustRadius customer.

Workforce Management (WFM) Software

Workforce Management (WFM) Software focuses on timekeeping, scheduling, and tracking employees so that they can be utilized effectively and efficiently. WFM software is primarily used by organizations with large, distributed workforces, where employees work in shifts. Some of the key features include time and attendance tracking, labor scheduling, compliance monitoring, leave management, and staffing optimization. Though standalone WFM solutions are available, nowadays it is more common for these features to be delivered as part of a human capital management (HCM) suite. In an HCM suite, data flows between HR, talent management, and WFM modules, to track employees in a more holistic way and surface more insights for management.

Be sure to consider your specific needs when evaluating WFM options. Industry regulations, the size and distribution of your organization, and the types of employees you need to manage (such as contingent or hourly, seasonal, salaried, etc.) should all play a role in your selection decision. You’ll also want to make sure that the product you choose has employee self-service features your workforce will find user-friendly so that you can achieve the efficiency and data quality benefits you’re after. For example, will the UI make sense to them without training, based on their level of tech savvy? Do they need to be able to access the system via their personal mobile devices, or will they typically log in on a company computer? Make sure your WFM system is usable for managers who are making schedules and monitoring performance, the employees under their purview, and executives who want to be able to see high-level trends in the data.

Here are the winners:

UltiPro

ultipro tr score

UltiPro is a unified cloud platform for HR, payroll, and talent management with workforce management capabilities like time and analytics. UltiPro is designed to help HR departments process payroll quickly while managing time in a flexible way. It also helps HR facilitate recruiting, performance, learning, succession, and compensation, and measure employee sentiment with surveys. Underlying business intelligence allows companies to use their HR data from across the platform to get workforce insights for strategic decision making. UltiPro is used mainly by larger companies, with 98% of reviews on TrustRadius posted by users at mid-size companies and enterprises. Some of the most common reviewer industries were hospital & health care, financial services, non-profit organization management, banking, real estate, insurance, computer software, restaurants, and oil & energy. In their reviews, users said they appreciate UltiPro’s friendly user interface, reporting/BI functionality, payroll processing, and customer service and support.

“Ultipro really does allow organizations the ability to create time — by this I mean when admins learn to use Ultipro to capacity, Ultipro has the ability to do things behind the scenes that give workers the opportunity to do more with their time. For instance, analysts and admins can use Business Intelligence reporting to find errors in collected data BEFORE there is a problem, cutting down on payroll processing errors and better benefits administration.

What sets Ultipro apart is the workforce at Ultimate Software that puts People First, ensuring that the customer — while not always right — is always informed and always empowered to perform their very best.”

Ceridian Dayforce HCM

ceridian tr score

Ceridian Dayforce HCM is a cloud human capital management platform for global organizations. It combines workforce management with HR, payroll, benefits, and talent management in one application. Dayforce is designed to be both flexible and scalable. It unifies the organization’s data, provides real-time access, and helps address complex regulatory requirements, with the goal of enabling better decision-making and improving the employee experience. Ceridian Dayforce HCM is used mainly by larger companies, with 94% of the reviews on TrustRadius posted by users at mid-size companies and enterprises. Some of the most common reviewer industries were retail, hospital & health care, non-profit organization management, financial services, insurance, consumer goods, hospitality, and real estate. In their reviews, users said they like having a single integrated system, the configurability of payroll and time modules, employee and manager self-service features, as well as the information visibility provided by Dayforce.

“In our US and Canada operations, we use Dayforce exclusively for our payroll processing, and we’re working toward adding the UK and Australia to the list of our countries that process payroll through Dayforce. We currently use timekeeping, entitlement tracking, and HR records for all employees company-wide. We love the single platform approach since it nearly eliminates the need for dual entry we have to do between our HR/Payroll departments.

Dayforce is great if you have a varied workforce that requires complicated configuration, like multi-state jurisdictions with different labor laws applicable to each location.”

Our employees especially like the Kronos Workforce app because it allows them to view their schedule, request time off, view hours, and request a swap-shift with other employees.

Kronos Workforce is a great tool to have at your disposal. If you need to make quick changes to scheduling or check on who can work and who can’t, it draws it out for you by showing in multicolored areas, making it easier to understand what you are reading.”

When we started with Paypro they helped us learn the basics of the platform and think through how we wanted our workflows to go outside of the software first. Then they set things up efficiently and showed us how to expand our use of the software as we got more comfortable… Paypro is great for any business looking to bring on a partner to help customize and fully integrate how your organization utilizes its payroll/HR software efficiently.”
