What is ERP software?

ERP software handles all the resources required to make ship and account for customer orders. It does this by integrating all the information flowing through the various departments of a large complex organization. This involves many different processes such as:

For smaller companies, the total cost-of-ownership for a cloud-based system is likely to be lower than for on-premise software, because of lower costs of implementing and maintaining the software. Cloud ERP software designed for SMBs is becoming more of an option as the range or product options increases and worries about cloud security diminish.

ERP is now a very broad category that has expanded beyond its manufacturing and distribution legacy, and with the emergence of cloud solutions, it can provide value to companies of all sizes.
