12d Synergy vs. SOHODOX

12d Synergy and its ability to handle all file types really suited the engineering industry.

Sohodox is a beneficial paperless office software product that is quick to install, cost-effective, and easy to operate; it works very well with any TWAIN compatible scanner. It is a perfect solution for small business document management that features all tools which are needed to manage electronic and paper documents more efficiently. It lets you scan, index, organize, store, search and manage documents.

• Manages multiple files in a folder, while allowing file sharing (AutoCAD, xrefs, etc.)
• Delivers HUGE (2, 3, or 5GB) files with minimal bandwidth

• Supports all document types as well as versioning.
• Integrated across all computer and mobile device operating systems for complete access to data.
• Complex indexing that allows for advanced and fast searching.
• Easy to use interface that is not challenging for the average user.

• Not a truly scalable software package, best fit for single or smaller organizations up to 15 users.
• Does not force structure and is less document management and more document storage / organization.
• Pricing is not cheap but is relative to what you receive, online document storage and advanced access across devices.

Hands down prefer 12d Synergy. Bentley ProjectWise is overly complex, expensive and has a very cluttered interface.

Well, it a good product at an affordable price, which makes it suitable for me to chose Sohodox.

• 12d Synergy has solved our multiple office syncing issues, adding the ability to have staff from remote offices collaborate together on projects.
• Email saving used to be a nightmare, however, staff finds 12d Synergy's email saving easy to use and are able to search for saved emails quickly.

• Very scalable, but only to a certain level (1-15 users or so max).
• Interface and usability are user-friendly, without sacrificing features and power.
• Advanced tagging and searching allows users to save documents and organize them "their way" without forcing specific workflows.
