It's best used in customer service, esp for those encountering similar interactions from time to time. Also, you can totally use it to seek opinions from relevant users on a matter regarding your business, the tool is perfect for engaging and crowd-sourcing.

Does the current version support many processors in the computer and will it take advantage of lots of RAM? What is the cost of more than one license and how many people can use that license? Is a run-time version available for just the purpose of locating and printing documents available

Pros

  • The smart clustering works wonder and will help you loads in managing a huge number of mentions everyday or reaching out to people who might be interested in your product. The tool cleverly groups similar tweets together even though they don't match word by word. It saves me time everyday responding to tweets with similar content. The nice thing about it is you can customize your responses so you don't sound like a machine, thus the personal touch is still there.
  • 12mass is the only tool that allows you to measure your responses against stipulated metrics like engagement rate, click-through rate and so on, so you know which responses are best welcome by the audience
  • The system gets smarter as you use it, which speeds up the conversations even further.
  • Clean scanning at any resolution your scanner supports
  • Accurate Optical Character Recognition (OCR) for locating scanned documents
  • Supports storing and searching .PDF, .DOC or .XLSX documents

Cons

  • The system is rather bulky and can be complicated for new users to get familiarized with at first. There are a lot of tools to refine your search, which takes a while to understand the logic.
  • It can be a bit slow at times and you'll need to refresh the system and type the search again.
  • Would love to see the statistics being present in a more comprehensive way with a dialog decision tree drawn out.
  • Deskewing documents when they go through the scanner slightly crooked is not done or is so minimal you can't tell. So most of my scans are slightly crooked.
  • The program is extremely sluggish if I add all the processes I want to occur during scanning -- like OCR. I have to do it as a separate process at the end of the day.
  • It does not take advantage of dual (or more) processors and all the RAM I have. Memory runs out too quickly and slows scanning to a crawl when scanning very long double-sided documents.

It is very unlikely that we would use Laserfiche again given our current size. If the firm were to expand to 50 or more employees with a larger compliance and supervisory group, it would be much more likely we would consider Laserfiche. It's also important to note, that in this day of mobile systems and cloud solutions, having a solution that could operate in the cloud while meeting regulatory requirements would be considerably more attractive.

I am very satisfied with Laserfiche. I have found that certain larger jobs may are slow. This may also be related to our infrastructure environment. We have been able to tune Laserfiche to increase performance on larger jobs.

Maybe its a small company and they don't have too many customers, but they always reply quickly and to the point. This saves me time and allows me to make money for my company :)

Good overall. Some inquires could not be resolved or they were pushed to the next release which made it difficult at times to figure out a work around, but it was great to know that they listen to their clients and are willing to enhance the product as requested.

Easily accessible 24/7 so am able to complete courseware whenever time allows: Commute to work; waiting for friends or family; at night while relaxing [with a delicious glass of wine!]; whenever and wherever time and circumstances permit.Courseware is well written and presented in an easy to follow and understand format.

Alternatives Considered

We selected 12mass because they responsed to our queries readily, and understood our concerns. The CEO (Agmon) doesn't waste time or effort, and got down to the brass tacks during our discussions. Even today, if there is an issue, the team is quick and reliable in responding
Document capture from multiple sources (scanning, web form, email, shared folder, etc.) is easier to manage and set up in Laserfiche. Integrating with third party software for document retrieval is easier in Laserfiche. Online form creation is possible with Laserfiche. The ability to export documents from Laserfiche in the event you decide to migrate is easier in Laserfiche.

Return on Investment

  • Better customer service. One example I like to use is that there was a miscommunication, and the customer put it up on Twitter (presumably because he thought an email wouldn't be helpful, or he wanted to get a few laughs). 12mass filtered his post out and brought it to our attention, so we were able to email him straightaway and quickly remedy it.
  • Better ROI. We have seen direct conversions from click throughs on responses generated by 12mass sent out at optimised times.
  • Maybe on a smaller note, its a morale booster. To know that we are using something that is still new, that works so well. Motivates the team to work harder because we are part of a change; a new way of marketing.
  • It is hard to quantify the value of the time saved, and the value of having documents immediately available at your fingertips, but we are relatively new to Laserfiche and it has already provided a high return on investment and the value will continue to grow as we implement it further.
