15Five is well suited for businesses/groups that are transparent, and willing to share information. If an organization was not a place where information is freely shared, it would not be helpful. Although, it could improve the level of transparency, as members of the organization could have space where they feel comfortable to share information. There are several different privacy settings within the each 15Five, so users can choose what they want to share. Also, it's best to make sure you/your organization has the time to use 15Five. It can be time-consuming for users, but also for those reviewing employees 15Five. It can be a lot of information to sift through. However, the layout of the software is easy to engage with and digest, which is helpful! Additionally, it's important to share with the team how 15Five works, and why it's being utilized. Depending on the questions that are set up within the software, it would seem a bit invasive to some. However, if a clear expectation is set prior to use 15Five, this may not be an issue.

  • Goals/To-do lists: 15Five is a great tool for creating to do lists or establishing goals for the week. Employees can add them easily, and check them off when completed. For me, this has provided a helpful visual of what needs to be accomplished that week.
  • It's easy to send information out to anyone in the organization - tagging individuals or @all is an easy way to share information within the platform. Our president is a big fan of 15Five, and she has utilized it as a way to disseminate information throughout our organization. Information can be uploaded in an easy-to-read, easy-to-access manner.
  • Reminders - it's easy to set up reminders within the program, to ensure employees are completing their portion. As an employee, the reminders are helpful in encouraging completion.
  • Customizable questions - direct supports/supervisors can set up different questions to be asked of employees from week to week. This is helpful if there are questions that are needed to be asked weekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly. Being able to change questions regularly is great.

  • Assignment Profile: This is an automated way of assigning courses and activities to users (through user interface configuration or through data feed synchronization).
  • Plateau Reports Designer: A client tool to customize the reports in SAP SuccessFactors Learning, widely used by most of the large organizations.
  • BizX integration: It's a SuccessFactors Business Execution (BizX) platform to connect the talent management and human resource management. It has a comprehensive view of the organization's resources skills, expertise, experience, and competency, etc.
  • Domain, Domain Restrictions and Roles: This is mainly to create an organizational structure and to provide the needed security permissions.
  • Integration with Jam, Skype and WebEx, etc.

  • The system is really extensive in terms of its functionality, but customization is a challenge.
  • The system is glitchy and could improve on its notification system when tasks are outstanding and management is responsible for completing said tasks in order to keep the process moving and have information into the system by the required timelines.

System performance issues are not enough to make us switch. We believe performance will get addressed. Functionally it meets our needs. We will figure out a way reviews spread out across the year vs. concentrated at end of year – exacerbating the performance bottleneck. However, if had known about the system performance issues pre-purchase I would not have still bought it

For what it’s supposed to do is intuitive. It didn’t take a roll out of corporate wide training – an average individual can figure it out. We came from iVantage which had no spell check, very poor word processing capabilities - most people wrote in Word) - and had a time out feature which meant you could lose everything if you hadn’t saved.

They have thought through the performance management process very well.

If you had asked me before the summer, I would have rated them 10/10 for up time. I am not sure if it was due to the SAP acquisition or not, but we had quite a few significant issues over the summer. Their servers have been bombarded. I know they are setting up new data centers, so some of these issues are supposed to go away. We have had more downtime than I think is acceptable, especially based on past performance.

We had some slow downs in last 6 months because of the server issues. They were experiencing load balancing issues. In previous years we have not had problems. We do batch our appraisals into one time at the end of our fiscal year which is June.

In reference to the implementation of Employee Central, the consultants were less familiar with certain aspects of product as it's new. I would have liked them to have better handle on all aspects of product as there were some things we had to go back and change. They were however helpful and open to discussion all the time. They were very accessible to us.

Asana isn't necessarily a performance tracking tool but we tried to use it in a way that would work. 15Five is much better since it specializes in this area specifically.

We currently are looking for a new Performance plan software. We are looking into using UltiPro which so far looks like it is going to be a lot more effective and user friendly. SuccessFactors was put in place when I joined the company. As far as I can tell the reason why it was chosen is because at the time it was one of the only performance tracking software

  • It is extremely difficult to gauge ROI for a tool like 15Five, but as a company, we've found a lot of value in it for byte-sized, weekly performance management.
