250ok

250ok is a great tool for companies that have recently switched ESPs to monitor inbox placement or for companies that historically have been having email deliverability issues and would like to learn about the root cause and improve. Unlike ReturnPath, 250ok doesn't offer certification, but honestly, you don't need certification if you follow the Gmail/Microsoft/AOL/Yahoo bulk sender guidelines. I haven't seen a company which significantly improved their results with that certification and I've been working for one major ESP for 7 years. 250ok is a good diagnostic/monitoring tool but it is not a panacea for those who continue to violate sender guidelines due to poor list/content management.

HelpCrunch

HelpCrunch is well suited when you need to provide support to your customers, generate leads and answer questions to drive sales. I cannot think of a situation where it may not be suitable but it is definitely more suitable for the B2C segment.

  • They provide a wide-ranging tool to view your email templates in many different email clients under different circumstances. We used this tool to identify specific issues we couldn't test that a small subset of users had complained about.
  • The Seedlist Optimizer Tool does the legwork for you to identify which ESPs are used the most and gives you a custom seed list for testing.
  • The Campaign Diagnostics report shows immediate feedback after sending on how your email is performing and where you can improve in the future.

  • Does not specifically identify which email addresses are spam traps
  • This is software as a service, so it's not managed and you need to have team members who can make adjustments to your email program
  • Would be nice if 250ok had a direct relationship with ISPs and could reach out on your behalf

We used Small Chat in the past. This is a really light-weight live chat solution which didn't have all the features that HelpCrunch has. So it's possibly not a fair example. I also looked at the market leader - Intercom - who certainly provide a similar service however the price was much more expensive
