EchoSpan 360-Degree Feedback Tool

I can't imagine a scenario where it is less appropriate than any other 360 tool. It's easy to use, customizable, and inexpensive. Reports are easy to interpret. Great tool for anyone looking to implement a new 360.

iCIMS

I have worked on a team of 30-50 people using the same iCIMS solution in an enterprise organization, and I have worked as the sole person using iCIMS in a small organization, and I loved it in both cases. iCIMS is extremely versatile and would work for any organization of any size. It can scale for a big organization, and it is super easy and simple to use with great support for a single user in a small organization. I recommend, as with any technology solution, that the users take accountability to fully learn the tool and optimize the full capabilities of the tool. Attend webinars, ask questions. Don't just complain about something you don't like about the tool - ask if it can be changed. It probably can be

Pros

  • EchoSpan was extremely supportive in the initial training portion and is extremely quick to offer support when required.
  • Filled our request for customization and were easy to work with.
  • Excellent on-line training videos
  • Integration with job distributors - scraping to outside job boards.
  • Integration with other on-boarding systems- ADP, EBI etc.

Cons

  • It would be beneficial if the system automatically reported if an email was returned because of an incorrect address.
  • Applicants are counted everytime they are in the Identified Bin. So that if they have applied to more than 1 job, they are not 1 applicant but rather counted several times over. Within reporting, we wish there was a way to identify these individuals on certain reports or to not have them count multiple times on certain reports.
  • Wish there was a way to report on how many applicants were not selected based on a reason type and for what job or by what manager. This would allow us to do further trending as to why we are not selecting or hiring candidates.
  • When building a new Job Template, that it would not be assigned a job id like all other active job openings are. That when selecting the status of template, it would not automatically assign an ID.

I don't use every function so I don't know what I don't know. Perhaps, the fact that I don't use every function is a veiled way of saying that it seems a bit overwhelming to master.

Things went smoothly

Alternatives Considered

Both EchoSpan and the other vendor supplied comparable products, so the major difference was the cost involved. EchoSpan is much more affordable and offers a very similar quality of report.
We looked at several systems along with iCIMS. Other systems did not provide the complete package of customizability, scalability, and superior user interface the iCIMS offers. iCIMS is web based, allowing for access from anywhere, which is important if your recruiting team is not all in the same office. The cost of iCIMS is very reasonable and provides the best "bang for your buck" of the systems we reviewed.

iCims is currently pretty good and the best TAS for us at our stage of growth - but further improvement and enhancements will only help make it even better.

Return on Investment

  • It has allowed feedback from many employees so certain issues that needed to be dealt with became more transparent.
  • Pricing/ROI information is not in court... However, candidate experience was a positive one. Easy, digital, forgiving as needed for editing/updating information.
