EchoSpan 360-Degree Feedback Tool

I can't imagine a scenario where it is less appropriate than any other 360 tool. It's easy to use, customizable, and inexpensive. Reports are easy to interpret. Great tool for anyone looking to implement a new 360.

If you have the time to train your staff on how to use it properly then it is good. I do feel it is outdated (looks wise) and could use a makeover and some new features. It could be made more intuitive, which might make it more competitive with comparable software on the market. And I would love to have it be smartphone friendly, or even have an app so that I could work with it on the go.

  • It would be beneficial if the system automatically reported if an email was returned because of an incorrect address.

  • Exchange Data with other systems (FBL, HDML). Fusion is our slave platform for talent management, tapping data from SAP HR. The initial version of Fusion provided us with a file based loader to manage this data exchange. FBL was not only a very poor layer, but Fusion was not webservice enabled in that version. With the new version, some of the weakest points are overcome (webservice enabled, easier load with HDML). Still, data conversion capabilities are limited.
  • Support function. Fusion in the cloud is supported by a help desk. The help desk has been in overload for a significant period of time. The continuous release of new versions has sometimes resulted in long waiting times.
  • Taleo-Fusion Integration. Taleo and Fusion have some standard integration. But I would not recommend using Taleo Performance next to Fusion compensation. It is more effective to bring performance management and compensation together on Fusion.

For an experienced recruiter Taleo provides the best ROI as candidates are quickly screened and can be moved through the system for purposes of organization and communication with the candidates as well as other areas of HR. Totally automates the applicant tracking and hiring process quickly and efficiently. Taleo leaves a footprint for not only each candidate who applies, but also where the candidate stands during the Hiring Process. The prescreening questions help eliminate the guesswork regarding basic prescreening questions such as salary and skills that cut down on the Recruiters time - -which cuts down on time to fill!

Oracle has an excellent support model. The challenge is in adopting this support model and making traditional IT and non-mature system administrators use this model. In combination with the Oracle Cloud (client) Community, the support is excellent.

There is a lot of potential on Fusion. We have reaped about 10% of potential benefits. Especially on Workforce Intelligence, the opportunities are huge. The reason why we do not use the solution at its full potential is not in the product (which is simple and transparent). A roadmap is under construction to bring more of its potential to the end user.

Alternatives Considered

Both EchoSpan and the other vendor supplied comparable products, so the major difference was the cost involved. EchoSpan is much more affordable and offers a very similar quality of report.

When placed head to head against iCIMS, in my opinion TALEO is the better choice. Again in my opinion, I have found iCIMS to be not as versatile and also not as customizable with other enterprise applications. It is important to note that that all ATS tools have inherent positives and negatives and that the aforementioned is a personal preference.

  • It has allowed feedback from many employees so certain issues that needed to be dealt with became more transparent.

  • Once Taleo is up and running at your organization you will see a ROI within your first hire. I was using a lot of outside vendors prior to using Taleo which typical cost me 20K per hire for an engineer. So it was clear to the CEO once I made my first hire using Taleo via a job posting or referral or sourcing method that the ATS was the way to go. He was quite pleased. Cut the vendor fees from 500K a year down to under 100K!
