6sense is well suited in areas such as creating a campaign for our site. For example, "grill season". It makes it easy to create a campaign to advertise all our grills, best selling [grills] and create certain price updates/categories. It is not as useful on the product campaign, coupon and sales level, but still more useful than platforms we have used in the past.

Act-On

Act-On is well suited for your business if you have a lot of contacts and are averse to the pay by the contact model of competing marketing automation software. Act-On charges by emails sent, not by how many contacts are in the database, so it makes it a great place to store everything, even if you aren't engaging with some of those contacts

  • List Management. Act-On has some powerful segmentation tools that complement the automated programs very well. Act-On lets you really slice and dice your lists however you see fit. Connected to Salesforce, Act-On becomes super-charged.
  • Automated Programs. You can then take your targeted segments and create robust automated programs that can be tailored into specific tracks for your targeted audience.
  • Webinar Programs. If you use GotoWebinar or WebEx, managing the webinar is a breeze. Act-On will handle the invitations, registrations, reminders and post-event follow-up for you. It works really well.

  • Although the site is easier to navigate, it has a lot of facets that take time to learn where elements are saved.

  • As with all new entrants into the market, there are features to make it better...however there is a product request hub which is regularly monitored, for me its acceleration of these ideas into the platform.
  • Deeper integration with Google Analytics to understand traffic coming onto the site, from what channel/source and attributing this to the contact/lead and funnel reports.
  • Out-of-box data out integrations with BI solutions such Tableau and MS Power BI.
  • A full marketplace of vendors who can connect with Act-On e.g. SMMS, IP Tracking, Call Tracking.

Often we need to integrate with legacy systems and we find the support team on our side during the whole endeavor. Always asking if they can help us further, always willing to do a better job. Act-On had a lot of resources, and their staff was great at answering any questions I had to make sure we got started on the right foot. Looking back, I would have preferred some additional training sessions since we didn't have any previous experience with Marketing Automation and best practices.

Oracle is not user-friendly. It is outdated and confusing, also makes it hard to enter in and out of certain tabs/areas within the platform. 6sense is more in-depth and has more functional abilities compared to Salesforce.

  • It is easier to monitor our ROI on certain campaigns, departments, subclasses, within our sites.
  • We have less issues with launching campaigns correctly and the site crashing on us while processing and developing these campaigns.

  • As stated in a previous section, one positive impact we have seen so far is the fact that we are more productive and efficient. We are no longer chasing after prospects that are not really interested in purchasing our product.
  • Our marketing team is able to produce nice reports to present at our team meetings every week.
  • The customer support has been so amazing. I needed help with something and had my answer within an hour! I was very impressed by the level of service Act-On provides to their customers.
