I think 7Sheep is especially important for organizations who need flexibility in translating and adapting their communications for an international target group. Being able to send out mailings and set forms up in multiple languages is very useful and in some cases necessary. Also, 7Sheep is great if you want to track how people are responding to your mailings. For example, do they open the mailings? If so, what do they click?

SharpSpring is great for companies of 3/4 or more employees, where you can use it's powerful automation features to assist in your marketing and sales efforts. It is also a great option to consider when companies are using several different solutions for email, analytics, social media campaigns and social media management, where SharpSpring can replace all of these in one platform.

Pros

  • When preparing an event, 7Sheep takes care of pretty much everything you need to select, inform, and register participants, as well as prepare materials for the events, such as name badges and signature lists.
  • We also use 7Sheep for reporting on communications activities.
  • 7Sheep allows you to build simple or complex forms and questionnaires which we use both for events and independent surveys.
  • The drag and drop HTML editor makes things look good without a lot of extra effort.

  • The email builder and email marketing features are particularly good. Having used a variety of email marketing solutions, having the power of the additional visual workflows and tasks available makes a difference.
  • The social media features are good and it's great to see the social calendar with everything planned and the option to post from there is great. The social listening tool is also great to manage our social media centrally.
  • The life of the lead is a great feature to see when clients have opened their emails, interacted with our media, social channels or even our tracked YouTube videos.
  • I also like the reminders option for the CRM, so I can plan my week and to list every monday, and the system reminds me each day.

Cons

  • Would suggest to create the API token on request rather than have it automatically included in the account.
  • Moving templates we created from MailChimp to create templates in 7Sheep needed some care and attention from our side.
  • The flexibility 7Sheep offers can sometimes lead to us having to make decisions that other tools might make for us!

  • The mobile app is a little basic in terms of full automation access but works well as a CRM when I am traveling.
  • The landing pages are not fully SSL certified, but I understand that is a work in progress from the developers.
  • The opportunities section for managing potential sales is set up for 1-time contract fees or job totals, rather than options for monthly management contracts.
  • The built-in tag system is for automation only, where new clients assume when they see the option, that is for the contact manager and are a little disappointed when it is not a contact searching tool. I understand that is also a work in progress to make better in the future.

Having been recently acquired by SMTP, a new series of updates are coming that I'm genuinely looking forward to! It means that I'll be having a busy new year, but soon we'll be able to do things such as creating dynamic e-mails based on customer behaviour, similar to what people would receive in terms of product recommendations from Amazon. This would be based on more than simply information received from form responses, but as well web behaviour, which is incredibly powerful when dealing with the sort of purchases that we reside over. Anything we can do to drive a prospective buyer from home, to a sales centre, is welcome! And if this works, there is no doubt we will be renewing.

Easy to set up, easy to accomplish most of the task we need to accomplish on behalf of our clients. The longer we use SharpSpring the more we enjoy the simplicity of the platform - with no loss of power or performance. No technical expertise is required to effectively use SharpSpring.

We have had dozens of 'stupid questions' in the early stages of deploying marketing automation for our clients. Through SharpSpring's support team we are gaining confidence and knowledge every day. They seem to understand the better they are at support, the less we need them, therefore the more clients they can add with the same resources.

Our custom application (CASL compliance) was not the typical on-boarding process for SharpSpring and they managed it very well. If we had to do it over, we would have let SharpSpring train us in their standard manner, trusting that the CASL compliance issues would sort themselves out in the process. Due to our own decisions we made our learning curve a little more difficult.

HubSpot is very powerful, but also very expensive. I did use the CRM service for awhile but found it difficult to pick up. It also seemed to be way too "modular"--with each module coming with its own price. By comparison--SharpSpring is FULLY INTEGRATED WITH ALL FUNCTIONALITY AT YOUR DISPOSAL FOR ONE LOW PRICE.

  • Our two drip campaings make staying in touch so much easier.
  • A big plus is to have all contact data for leads and clients in one tool to use with newsletters etc.
  • Constant communication during onboarding can be a pain and this is now easier.
