8x8 Virtual Office

I would be hard-pressed to recommend 8x8 Virtual Office. My organization is unhappy with the solution - I hear team members complain about it at least once a week and we have been with the product for three+ years. I'm unaware of other solutions that exist in the market, so the only time I would recommend this is if another, more capable product doesn't exist that is within the same price range.

The advantage you have is that it's very easily scalable so it can grow with your business.When it comes to the engineering, after having worked with numerous other systems in the past that were not-so-friendly, IP Office is very easy to install and also configure. That saves you a lot of time when installing the system, which means you will have more time to spend on training users how to use the new system and making sure that they are completely happy and confident with it.

Cons

  • I'd like to see better connectivity between the call center system and the desktop user. 4 digit dialing is a must for us but we are waiting for that functionality.
  • I'd like 8x8 to understand that we are on the east coast and stop calling for follow up after our EST hours.

I find Avaya easy to use but I am not a beginner. I think it is much more difficult for beginners unless the administrator has some basic programming skills. The system is getting more difficult to use but I enjoy learning and haven't found myself stumped yet.

The tech support that I have received has been outstanding. My only complaint is at times the support is hard to understand due to offshore technicians.

Alternatives Considered

Only 8x8 offers a desktop phone solution, call center solution and equipment. Having one provider makes things much easier for all and allows for one call if there is an issue.
