Good for letting your investors, employees and others know at a glance how your company is doing. The interface is clean and organized well. I just wish more of the app's functionality was available for testing and implementation. "Coming soon" is not really encouraging when we already have been waiting for a year or more.

Salesforce Analytics

The biggest selling point that Salesforce Analytics has is its simplicity. If you are already utilizing Salesforce it is incredibly easy to roll Salesforce Analytics into your CRM solution and start visualizing data in an actionable way. Plus it never hurts to get your entire bill rolled into a single invoice. I am a big fan of hosting as many solutions as possible in a single ecosystem. Which is why I also utilize Salesforce for our large-scale email solution.

Pros

  • Grouping several apps in one place for easy viewing.
  • Clean dashboard interface that looks uncluttered when viewing several apps at once.
  • Setting up the apps is a breeze when the platform supports them.

  • Multi-device support, I am able to access our data nearly anywhere so long as I have access to wi-fi or data.
  • Data Visualization.
  • Extremely easy to deploy.
  • Trailhead support, so it's easy and free to learn.

Cons

  • Integration with apps that are listed. Some of them are not supported yet and it seems the wait is taking longer than I'd like.
  • iPhone support. It would be nice to have this in the app store. Not available as of 04/25/2018.

  • The lack of Instagram integration is crippling. Again, a team member must be logged in on their phone making accountability hard.
  • Images larger than 3mb cannot be automated so professional shots must be reduced or screen shot and uploaded again.
  • Video post automation is shaky at best. Frequently my video content has "failed to post" which is frustrating.

Support

Support was helpful in the beginning but no longer needed because I didn't use the software as much. The experience that I did have with support was very friendly but not enough to give a good review. If the support team was called for initial setup, video chat or messenger app was used.

An implementation partner would certainly result in greater output in a more efficient amount of time. However, I have found implementation partners to be extremely expensive for the output received (at least working for a non-profit company they are frequently unaffordable). Internal implementation does help with usable output though since internal knowledge would better know the data architecture and business processes

Alternatives Considered

I actually chose QuickBooks (currently using) and Method (used for a month) before deciding that 9 Spokes is just good for looking at a few apps in one place. I'll keep checking back with them to see if they have improved. I wouldn't be surprised if 9 Spokes improves their product within the next 6-12 months.

I would say Marketo is the closest thing to Salesforce Analytics Cloud that I have experienced. I wasn't given the choice about selecting Salesforce Analytics Cloud, but I am satisfied with the decision because I find it very easy to use. It has many valuable features included that the organization uses to track business decisions

Collaboration and Sharing

Access control capabilities are OK. Ease of sharing is great because the app design is made special for that purpose. I haven't dove that far into the app enough to generate reports. Formatting is very flexible because 9 Spokes allows the user to customize how the info is displayed. Security or lack thereof is not a factor for me so I am unable to give feedback on security.

Security controls and ability to create, read, edit and delete are standard to Salesforce solutions. Additional licenses are required for Analytics users, so great control in that regard. Sharing data is not yet mature, although easy to post to Chatter and export images. Ability to export to Excel and PDF is a future must-have.

Data Integration

9 Spokes5.0
Based on 1 answer
I gave 9 Spokes a five because the range of data sources is minimal. Ease of merging data from disparate sources is pretty good for the ones they do support. I just want to have more apps available for arranging on their nice looking interface. Perhaps next year my review for 9 Spokes will be better than 5

It is very easy to connect with SalesForce Analytics since it provides a group of tools to allow us to manage and interact with the data available in SalesForce Analytics. This way we have a range of data sources that it is really easy to use and show on our applications.
