A Cloud Guru (Linux Academy)
Where it's strong: Linux, open source technologies, web development administration, virtualization and automation, cloud platforms like AWS and Azure, CI/CD trainingWhere it's lacking: The more traditional aspects of IT -- Windows, Active Directory, IT Service Management. storage administration and networking basics... advanced networking also, like CCNA, would be nice.

Docebo Learning Suite
Docebo [Learning Suite] is a great tool for hosting content when you have a clear idea and path of how you want your users to engage. Essentially, the UI and experience is beautiful and the navigation for users really beats out many other learning platforms but you need to be very deliberate in designing the paths for employees to take. You cannot expect employees and users to intuitively figure out what they need to do within the system. This is a key drawback. What I love is content curation from external sites such as youtube, linkedin, and uploaded videos that can launch all within Docebo -that for us is key to track how much engagement were getting where we couldn't have that on our previous platform.

Pros
A Cloud Guru (Linux Academy)
- The videos are short and easy to ingest. This is super important! Long videos get boring and people lose interest quickly
- New training videos for new technology are always being added regularly
- In addition to new videos, existing training videos are updated when software or technology changes, ensure that you always have current information while you're learning

A Cloud Guru (Linux Academy)
- The merger with A Cloud Guru has confused things a bit. They're slowly replacing the Linux academy branded training with ACG training (which is fine) but if we found ourselves losing access to training videos while we were in the midst of watching them
- A more robust community would be nice. There's the Slack channel, but I wish there was more robust community features
- It would be nice to be able to download videos locally on desktops and laptops. This helps greatly with rewinding the video to reiterate key learning points

- Service and support
- The LMS is glitchy
- The company as a whole lacks a fine finish. It is 3 star in all categories and can't achieve excellence

The site can have some issues. It can be difficult to return to the training module you were viewing after some time away from the site and you have to relogin. We've also had issues where the session will time out at random points, which makes it frustrating to move on to the next videos in the module when you have to re-login and try and find which one you left off on.

I've never had to communicate with Linux Academy's customer support aside from some minor billing issues, which were easily ironed out in a very quick manner.

The team is prompt and knowledgeable. It would be nice to have the ability to call and talk to a real person. All problems have been resolved so far, hence no issues.

Alternatives Considered
A Cloud Guru (Linux Academy)
We've tried CBT Nuggets, Pluralsight, ITProTV, and even official training programs directly from the software vendors. Linux Academy outranks them all simply because of the quality of the training videos compared to the monthly costs. It's hard to beat its affordably, especially when the training material is such high quality and engaging

We selected it because it integrated with Adobe Connect for our live virtual classroom content. As we are no longer using Adobe Connect, we are beginning to consider other systems.
