Absorb is suited for any organization looking for an LMS that covers all aspects of L&D without needing other programs to create courses or analyze progress. It has many functionalities, so if one is looking for an easy, no-nonsense platform, it may be complicated.

If you are growing quickly and need to give first time people managers a resource to learn the basics this is a good tool. If you have established leaders this is not a good tool for them. It covers the basics and ABCs of people management and does not go much further than that.

Absorb Software Inc.
  • Usability - Both the User and Admin Experience is so simple and intuitive. The admin tools are clearly defined and laid out, yet the functionality makes it still powerful.
  • Integration - We used the Scheduled Data Imports and Exports to connect with our HRIS tool. After the initial configuration, it has worked reliably and gives me all the custom data I need to make assignments and reporting a breeze.
  • Design - I know it's covered a little bit in the Usability above, but the site just looks fantastic. There are a lot of options to customize and fit your branding requirements and all of the thumbnails/posters/billboards/etc give a very visual and appealing look to the LMS. Much better than I've seen in other products.

  • You don't have the option to make your buttons within an object skip to the next course (only the next page within the Create object), so people have to navigate using buttons on the bottom panel, which is not always intuitive
  • If you un-enroll someone and re-enroll them, they start back where they left off, instead of wiping the slate clean
  • I have not been able to figure out how to clean up the courses page (ie putting them into folders)

  • It is hard to make it valuable in a specific situation. One size does not fit all.

We have no plans to move away from Absorb at this time. It has all of the functionality we are looking for in a learning management system and we have a lot of info stored in our LMS system for trainings including all of our current and past employee transcripts. It is also getting easier to manager with being able to connect the LMS to ADP to update employee reporting/department/location/etc. We don't have a need or reason to move away from Absorb at this time.

Absorb's support team has always responded to inquiries quickly and has been extremely friendly. Occasionally, our front-line support rep misunderstands the question wildly or provides feedback that is unhelpful. This is particularly true when it appears that problem is a result of a bug, rather than us using the LMS incorrectly. (We do not pay for the escalated/additional support.)

The main reasons why we chose Absorb LMS was: 1) Best overall features for the cost 2) Easy integration with our HRIS, (ADP WFN) 3) Platform has the ability to add Skill Assessment levels 4) Professional look with easy interface for users

I have not used any other products like Jhana and I am not sure of what else would be out there. So it is hard to explain how Jhana has stacked up. I would image it stacks up well against anything else. My guess is that other tools feel a lot more corporate.

  • Employee visits to our learning centre have increased by 300% since implementation
  • Cost saving from a time perspective as we can automate a lot of the admin work we used to do.
  • Pre Absorb we had about 3 or 4 e-learnings that were available. We now have over 100 that are accessible to all employees
  • Ability to seamlessly integrate with Workday and Udemy allowing all learning to be in one place, people data to be imported from WD, and very comprehensive reporting
