Accelo is a system that can do it all. It's extremely sophisticated. Depending on the sophistication of your organization, or specifically the abilities of the people you put in charge of the implementation, it can almost be too sophisticated. It all just depends on your situation. The more you use it, the more data you give it, the more you'll be able to see and do. It's incredibly powerful. But it's definitely not a tool that would be appropriate for smaller boutique type organizations that have only basic needs.

Clarizen got the job done with time tracking and expense reports, but it didn't do enough to make our organization continue using it. We ended up switching because the key stakeholders (resource management) were unhappy with its offerings. This might be a good fit for smaller organizations that require less feature and capabilities. Instead, our company switched to OpenAir, which has more robust time tracking, expense reports, and PTO accrual and monitoring programs.

- Highly customizable, can develop organization specific workflows, modules, etc.
- Interface (in most instances) is easy to use. Timesheets, project details, and report modules are fairly easy to navigate and understand.
- Good comms tools like discussions, group pages, automatic reminders and notifications.

Accelo
- Accelo is excellent on the adaptation to its deep functionalities.
- Managing multiple project is very challenging.
- Not easy to collect multiple reports across platforms.

- Export: I'm not wild about the export options. We created a custom project plan formatter to turn the ugly export in CSV to a customer facing color coded PDF. It's not super easy to give your customers something pretty to look at (although they do offer PPTs)
- Gantt Charts: All I want in life is a nice little high level set of milestones to pop into a slide I'm showing to a steering committee. It's just not something the system does. I've just had to screen shot a hard to read gantt from the system or recreate in PPT or Visio. No fun
- Speed: I am not sure what's going on here but Clarizen can be pretty slow to update small changes to project plans. It's rough when you have a laundry list of changes to make but the system is waiting

I give my renewal of this product a 9. It's only because we never know what product may come out next and how other factors in our office political environment may cause impact upon this. If I always had my way, this is what we'd settle on as our de facto project management system.

It is easy to configure, intuitive. The customization process is in some ways better than Salesforce.com. It has a great UI. It does however depend on how it's implemented.
The design of it is generally fine, however the ability to data upload people from a spreadsheet is an obvious miss.

From the beginning the Accelo team has been very invested in ensuring our success and overall happiness with the platform. The initial implementation specialists and trainers did a fairly good job of learning our company and needs, and tried to tailor the trainings accordingly. However, once we made the formal switch to the platform, meaning we no longer were using our legacy systems, we found that we had a lot of questions....and a lot of ideas and recommendations. The support team is extremely responsive and seemingly happy to receive our continual feedback. And if we encounter an issue that seems to be a system issue, they work diligently to fix it (we've actually had an engineer join a call with us to learn of the issue - and subsequently fix it)

It's a good experience overall. Clarizen was useful when needed. It's mostly needed for advice on how to do more sophisticated actions or how to change something that was set up administratively. It's seldom used otherwise. The product consistently works, the documentation is acceptable, and the generally intuitive product is easy enough for most staff to pick up without much issue.

• We worked with a Project Manager on their side. He was very good about developing a project plan to hit our goal. I think we had weekly or twice weekly calls – very steady cadence over 3 month period.
• Their PM skills were great – kept us on task. For the last week, they sent 2 people on site and they did training for power users. After that a couple of them revisited here

Our trainer, Alex, is exceptional and knows the product really well. I swear he must have wrote the product himself! His manner with training is very easy going, gives you homework that is applicable to what you need to learn and stages it correctly for you. It was a pleasure to be trained by him.

I performed the implementation with our Clarizen provide trainer, who knew the product 100% and it went quickly and without a problem. It was a pleasurable process without the problems other software implementation often encounter. Kudos to the Clarizen team for making this a worry free process for their clients because it is worry free.

Accelo doesn't really exceed any competitors in any one area of their product, but in 2015 when we made the move this was the best option that included all the tools we wanted. However, user adoption was low in some areas due to the UI, so we scaled back Accelo and added other tools.

There were several others I reviewed that I can no longer remember but none of them compared to Clarizen when it came to flexibility. Many factors sold us on Clarizen but most importantly it was that Clarizen was capable of wrapping itself around our existing processes instead of us changing to to meet the software tool. With that said, we are now looking at changing some of our processes due to the fact that Clarizen is such a powerful tool!

Accelo
- It substantially reduced the number of systems we use to run our business.
- It reduced the need to train our staff on a variety of platforms.
- It gave us the ability to have a client-facing portal that directly integrates with our backend systems.

- Great customer feedback related to real-time availabilty of project status. We could tailor gant charts to various customers within an organization fairly quickly.
- Seeing real-time breakdown of costs and time for projects was great. The main page with summary charts was a great way to get information at a glance.
- Clarizen use definitely helped us stream-line project planning and assisted with identifying bottlenecks.
- We run many projects in parallel with similar timepoints (pre-, interim-, and post-). The software was pretty straight forward, permitting us to create one project outline then dupiclating it (as a template) for a number of others.
