Achievers

Achievers is well suited as a rewards and recognition platform - which is what it was designed for. It's less appropriate for a company intranet to share files and documents with one another. Allowing users to do both on one platform would be a great solution for bridging the gap between corporate communication and rewards.

When you don't need to customize, I can see where Dayforce would be great for most businesses. Unfortunately, our company is very large, has several combined legacy systems, and therefore we require a lot of customization to make things match/work as needed. We also are simply not able to report on everything we see in the system, which we need to be able to do to ensure things like taxes and earning codes are set up as needed, and to satisfy our users and auditors. Dayforce is a powerful database, but because it is also large it can be hard to use. Some of our less computer-savvy field users simply get overwhelmed by the user interface.

  • It offers a lot of solutions "out of the box". If your company has no specialized/customized needs this would be excellent.
  • For the most part, customer service is responsive, aside from the busiest times of the year.
  • Documentation is extensive on all parts of the system. The DIG (Dayforce Implementation Guide) in particular, is very helpful.

  • Training and sales seem to be out of sync with the actual system. Sales promises our leaders things that in real life are not possible, or require additional fees/services to implement. Training has featured things that are no longer available live in the system. Support sometimes is out of sync with updates as well.
  • Support is overwhelmed the entire year. This means slow response times, unless you mark everything as urgent. If a ticket is marked as high priority, unless it is escalated we may not get a response beyond "your ticket has been received" for two weeks or more. Ceridian needs to hire more support people.
  • Communication on changes that will be made by hot fixes is often done after the fact.

We have never experienced a total/unplanned outages that effected our ability to process payroll. However, there are times when the application's speed is significantly effected - and processing a payroll may take up to twice as long as normal.

Allow yourself a sufficient period, and if you hit snags TALK with your implementation team. Do not try and figure it out on your own. ADP, and before that we were on an in-house system based on Gemini. Gemini was not user friendly, but it was much more flexible and powerful than any other system I have used. And because it was in-house we were only limited by what programmers could do. ADP had its issues, but we had access to any part of the system, and very few limits on what we could report on. We also had more power and flexibility in their report writer. We went backwards on our report building ability when we went to Dayforce. This is being addressed slowly by Dayforce, at least, with all improvements I have been hoping for at least on the roadmap. Again, the ease of use and quick results have not been our experience with Dayforce yet.

  • We have been able to standardize processes throughout our company. Associates no longer are submitting PTO requests on paper. Our managers and supervisors are able to complete employee changes directly in Dayforce, with workflows that enable the data to update in real time.
