Achievers

Achievers is well suited as a rewards and recognition platform - which is what it was designed for. It's less appropriate for a company intranet to share files and documents with one another. Allowing users to do both on one platform would be a great solution for bridging the gap between corporate communication and rewards.

PayScale Insight

PayScale is great when you want to sync what the current pay rate is to what the market is indicating the trend of compensation is. It isn't the best for keeping all employee detail in the system. (It doesn't really help to add performance data in as that's also kept in our performance system, and multiple sections for scores can't be compared).

Cons

  • Relevance of rewards catalog

  • We didn't get a match for all of our positions without having to modify things a bit. That's reality, though, as we have some unique jobs that we understood might be difficult to benchmark going into it.
  • The service is a-la-carte, so our subscription didn't provide us with unlimited salary data.

Alternatives Considered

No answers on this topic
Others, such as Economic Research Institution, give us unlimited salary reports with our subscription. PayScale's reports are more customized and in-depth, however. But if you have several positions that you are benchmarking, the price can escalate pretty quickly with PayScale. We also have some more cost-friendly local options, but PayScale is good when you have multiple sites across the country like us.

Return on Investment

  • Positive: it has increased our company's ability to express gratitude for exceptional work
  • Positive: it has increased our company's overall morale
  • Negative: rewarding points for gratitude can be expensive depending on the size of the company

  • Positive ROI in the time it used to take to research the info for a new or existing position
  • Positive ROI on one stop shopping
