  • As mentioned earlier, transactional heavy web assets such as eStores are particularly strong candidates.
  • IBM CXA along with other, similar tools, is not set-and-forget. The solution must be well managed in order to deliver value. Purchase of the solution is one thing; driving analytic results is another. If a company's staff are not strong analytical thinkers, CXA will not help. IBM CXA is not just a technology platform - it is a basis to design strong customer touchpoints and interactions. You need to be customer journey design literate to get the best from this.

SingleStore (formerly MemSQL)

MemSQL is well suited for low latency, high data freshness use cases. It can scale significantly, although its in-memory usage does mean the cost of scaling to data size is higher, so I believe for very large data sets (double-triple digit TBs) where less performance (latency/freshness) is needed it may not be worth the cost. We've currently limited its usage to cases where the performance needs are very high.

  • Tealeaf provides a unique view into a website beyond what typical web analytics can provide.
  • It captures all of a website's traffic, no need to tag pages or decide ahead of time what data you want to capture.
  • Data is captured and processed in real-time which reveal unknown issues as they are happening.
  • Replay session to see what a customer or user actually did and not just they remember doing when a problem occured.

  • Customer support team answer tickets quickly and provide guidance
  • MySQL engine which allows to query using simple MySQL drivers from different clients

  • IBM CXA leverages script tagging to inspect specific behaviour patterns. A tagging engine against your web assets is a must-have to simplify script insertion and avoid having to leverage internal IT resources to modify web code.
  • Tag management is perhaps the most challenging aspect of IBM CXA. In our view, this could be abstracted further and therefore simplified.
  • We would like to see connectors with UBX to common platforms such as CRM, marketing automation. The more this is readily available, the quicker the time to value for clients.

  • We wish the product had better support for High Availability of the aggregator. Currently the indexes generated by the two different aggregators are not in the same sequential space and so our apps have more burden to deal with HA.
  • More tools for debugging issues such as high memory usage would be good.
  • The price was the one that kept us away from purchasing for the first few years. Now we are able to afford due to a promotion that gives it at 25% of the list price. Not sure if we'll continue after the promotion offer expires in another 2 years.

The comprehensive set of tools IBM Tealeaf provides is so unique to what it can do. It continually provides value beyond what it costs. It is like free money. There hasn't been a tool that has replace what it can do. Without it, people and teams managing their application or website would be much more difficult

[Until it is] supported on AWS ECS containers, I will reserve a higher rating for SingleStore. Right now it works well on EC2 and serves our current purpose, [but] would look forward to seeing SingleStore respond to our urge of feature in a shorter time period with high quality and security.

Very responsive to trouble tickets - Often, I think, the SingleStore's monitoring systems have already alerted the engineers by the time I get around to writing a ticket (about 10 - 20 mins after we see a problem). I feel like things are escalated nicely and SingleStore takes resolving trouble tickets seriously. Also SingleStore follows up after incidents to with a post mortem and actionable takaways to improve the product. Very satisfied here.

Obviously, with technology becoming smarter, more updated and more efficient, we converted to software that would handle that...IBM. we've realized that analytics are so beneficial to the reelection process, how we communicate with constituents and the way we relay information to the community.

  • It can save thousands of dollars in licensing. However you still have to provision big clusters, which sometimes it's more expensive than having traditional technologies and it's difficult to create business cases for our customers
  • Time. Differently SS is key to save time, and time is money.
  • Enhanced user experience (for the IT/BI teams)
