Likelihood to Recommend

Acquisio

Acquisio is ideal for marketing agencies, especially those that focus on serving a specific market. If your Agency has access to client data, depending on the data, Acquisio's software could be a powerful way to deliver that data in the form of online ads. Acquisio might be too powerful for a small business looking to manage campaigns in-house.

Great if your audience is on Facebook and you are trying to sell B2C. I'm not sure how that works on B2B.I also think it's a great channel for more visual products and experiences, but you need to know that it not only needs an analyst for managing, you also need a designer and creative person for making all the ads. The fact that ads fatigue over time makes management more expensive than other channels (AdWords) but it has great potential for scalability.Nevertheless, I think almost everyone can benefit from using it. You just need to know that it takes some time to master the learning phase (what segments, what types of ads, what messages, pictures, etc. work best).

Pros

Acquisio

  • Reports: The report center platform is really well made, easy to use and to automate. It can be custom and it comes into multiple languages.
  • Support: The customer support is really quick and effective.
  • Budget management: Acquisio makes it easy to manage your monthly budget across multiple publishers.

Cons

Acquisio

  • Lack of ability to manage social media ads
  • Somewhat limited number of visualizations in reports
  • Slow to add new features and respond to changes in platforms

Facebook for Business

  • When you are setting up a page, you need to do it to near-perfection. It is rather challenging to edit details later on once a page is set up.
  • Customer service is pretty much non-existent. The messages you get in response are very generic and sometimes feel like they are being sent by a robot. Honestly, for an advertising platform, there are better ways to handle customer service.
  • Messenger is a great application but it takes a lot of effort to get a good response time, and this metric itself becomes confusing to use for analysis. It would almost be better if the "response time" banner was removed all together as it's not accurate.
  • While Facebook for Business is great, it just feels a tad bit slow. Even on a solid fast internet connection, it can take 2 minutes to load advertising pages for accounts. This can be really frustrating to us,e especially since advertisers are the ones who pay Facebook's bills.

I think the platform, with the latest release updates has a lot of great potential. The main decision, currently, is price and how that gets passed on to our clients. There has to be a conscious decision made on platform cost vs client spend and overall budget vs revenue.

Because Facebook for Business is free. There is no renewal. Maybe I should have put a ZERO because you can't really renew your Facebook for Business account. I put 10 because it is a no-brainer to use. I would recommend it to other people. Actually I do recommend it to other people

I find it very cumbersome to use. It is a clunky system and often times very buggy. The customer support, though helpful, is very slow to resolve issues.

My experience with Acquisio is a tale of two situations. We had a customer service rep named Jeannie who was supernaturally gifted at anticipating and solving our issues. Her response time was so fast it felt like she was responding before I even hit SEND on our emails. Jeannie was deservedly promoted and support has been a little slower and we have had to make multiple requests to get answers since.

Because they have really thought ahead and made all the help content very simple to understand and the training videos were very detailed.

Take all of the training offered through Facebook first before attempting to create a page on the platform. Learn all of the capabilities available to you. Learn about the different types of audiences who might be interested in seeing your page. Create short video clips as though they are viewed at a much higher rate than anything else. Offer free giveaways or raffles to further build to your list of prospects and drive traffic to your website

Alternatives Considered

Acquisio

Not quite as seamless as Marin whose editing tool seemed better but also not as expensive and fit better into our agency's budget.

Facebook for Business

As a social media page platform, Facebook for Business feels like a half-baked product that really needs more attention. Facebook for Business just does the job without doing it exceptionally well. It is not where it needs to be to compete with other paid-for services. Buffer, Hootsuite and Sprout Social all do social media management better, albeit without access to the Facebook Advertising platform.

Return on Investment

Acquisio

  • Has allowed me to manage more social ads (Facebook, Twitter)
  • Has improved CPA and CPC performance for almost all of my accounts year over year

Facebook for Business

  • We have significantly more readers.
  • A lot of people begin to know that our brand has an online presence. These are both new readers and old ones from the print, who shift their reading behavior since we went digital.
  • Facebook for Business helps us in terms of sales, since a lot of clients also want their contents to be published on our social media.
