Likelihood to Recommend Acronis Cyber Protect is great for any small/mid-sized business. The price point makes it attractive to all budgets >$100/year for 5 device deployments. Competitors offer less and charge more! Very happy with the suite of products, and renewals are simple and straightforward as well. I hope they don't change a thing!
Read full review Comprehensive threat prevention against a variety of threats, such as viruses, ransomware, and spyware is effectively provided by ESET PROTECT. The cross platform compatibility of this software is advantageous for business with diverse IT environments such as those combination of Windows, macOS, and Linux systems. Some industries, such highly regulated sectors with specific compliance needs, may find it more cost-effective, however it is less suitable for small enterprises with limited IT resources and for organizations with severe budgetary limits.
Read full review Pros Delta backup makes backups super fast of larger files that do not change in its entirety (e.g. VM images, large PSD files) Easy to use (set it and forget it) Rescue media makes it easy to restore backups to different hardware and migrate to other work stations Lots of backup options on the Windows version of ATI Read full review ESET provides comprehensive, transparent protection for my MacOS devices without interfering with the efficiency of my operating system. It's easy to install, configure (default settings are great for just about everyone), and update. ESET's customer communications, including a very detailed knowledge base online, make it clear I've chosen the right antivirus solution! Read full review Cons Some features have actually become more complicated over the years. One that comes to mind is creating a backup plan that can execute daily to an external USB media that is changed daily (older versions would back up to the, for example, "F" drive regardless of which drive was attached - newer versions identify each drive uniquely, and a backup task created with a given external drive will fail due to the lack of media presence if the drive is replaced). Error messages could be less cryptic. Support turnaround time and live assistance could be faster. Communication between PCs under the same network may be hindered, which may be an obstacle to verification. Read full review Likelihood to Renew I'm giving it a 10, because I would totally have no reservations about staying on with eSet for another 3 years once our contract comes up for renewal. We are looking to transfer to a different product in January, however. This is due to a special pricing contract with the state of Ohio that made a normally much more expensive product very affordable and was cheaper than our coming eSet renewal cost. This is a very special case only available to government and educational organizations, but had that not been offered, we would have gladly stayed with eSet.
Read full review Usability Protect my system from data loss and also can manage multiple devices via online cloud from any where and also can set Multifactor authentication for more secure login access. Archive any backup which will use less space and we can transfer it to any other space also so it is very easy as server admin to manage acronics utilities
Read full review We had issues initially getting all of the policies implemented and working since it can be hard to figure out what setting is coming from what policy. Once you get your stack of policies setup and working, the product works great. The installers just work and knowing that they can remove other AV software when you install it can save you a lot of time and headaches.

Read full review Support Rating Beyond a single instance, I haven't had to approach Acronis' support. I needed a new key following the death of my previous workstation, and they rapidly supplied it. I've heard from colleagues that they've quickly answered any questions that've been asked. If I need something, I'll generally frequent FAQ pages first, although Acronis actually has instructional videos to help users get started, which is forward-thinking. Great software that fills a vital niche for Windows systems.
Read full review Excellent support from ESET and when we had questions regarding the initial deployment they were there. The questions we put forth were answered immediately with great detail. Any of the items we put forth, scenarios, were given a good solution from ESET to fit our needs. This company stands by their product and are happy to step up when needed.
Read full review Implementation Rating Do the full scan at the beginning and be prepared to wait until it is done. It will find things you did not know were there. You can leave on the Apple firewall as well as the ESET firewall. There have been no conflicts. Remember to remove emails from being backed up, so you do not have spam on your backup! This was the mistake I made.
Read full review Alternatives Considered IDrive is incredibly faster than Acronis on cloud backup. After Acronis' failures on cloud storage I moved to
IDrive for peace of mind.
IDrive can also do local backups, and either variant of system state, server, outlook, exchange, etc. It does not however have the ability to do a full image of a bitlocked machine like Acronis, so I'm continuing the local imaging with Acronis.
Read full review We really like the lightness of ESET, this really is a differential in your favor, the way it operates quietly in the background even running a scan was something that interested us, nothing worse than an antivirus locking everything like a scan and still end up issuing scandalous false detections, in the end the choice was made by ESET much because of this differential.
Read full review Scalability The Windows version is generally reliable and only ran into one issue thus far. Restores are easy and there are many features. On MacOS, it's a completely different story. There is significant resource leakage related to the updater app that can bog down part of a CPU core continuously until it is disabled. The mobile backup feature also needs to be disabled via UNIX command line or CPU usage will go up when a mobile device on the same network like an iPad or iPhone's screen is turned on.
Read full review Return on Investment Peace of mind - knowing that if anything happens to our data, we can recover it. File Versioning has saved us a few times - we can grab prior versions of a particular file if there is a problem. Reasonably priced - there are more comprehensive backup solutions out there, but for online backup, this was the right product for the right price. Read full review Stopped several malware outbreaks that would have had considerable downtime on endpoints. Stopped several ransomware attacks that would have potentially costs large sums of money and downtime. Allowed us to utilize Eset itself in lieu of a patchwork of platforms to accomplish the same tasks. Saving us several thousand per year.
