Act-On

If you have an existing CRM system, like Microsoft 365, you can integrate campaign automation with Act-On, and then it is worth most of the time it takes to get less-experienced employees on-boarded. In other cases that require more minimal use, the on-boarding may be too lengthy. In that case, it may be better-suited to choose a different SaaS that tracks campaign, ROI, lead scoring, etc.

Pros

  • Customer service. Act-on is the leader in client support for training, basic tips and trouble shooting to planning our Act-On strategy. The Act-On team is flexible, friendly, engaged and collaborative.
  • Act-On does not over-complicate its offering. It is visually appealing and intuitive. Some platforms are just too complicated to keep on top of. We are a small team with a busy marketing schedule. We do not depend a great deal on online lead generation for our growth, however Act-On is still a good fit for us.
  • Trust. No surprises once we had signed our agreement. In fact, our expectations were exceeded.
  • Value - price for service.

  • Intuitive: Anyone can use this product. I've used similar (more expensive) products where making workflows felt like rocket science. Autopilot enables a team with any level of knowledge to make a cohesive marketing funnel.
  • Feature-Rich: For the price point, Autopilot is STACKED with features. It has hundreds of integrations, chat functionality, email marketing, forms, etc.
  • Inexpensive: Autopilot offers a 30 day free trial, and their entry package is solely based on number of contacts, so it's incredibly affordable for new and scaling teams.

Cons

  • A more coherent interface.
  • Data studio needs to be a bit more mature.
  • A more contact oriented, less list oriented approach could be useful.

  • Limited Design Customization: If you're an experienced marketer and are used to the unlimited customization capabilities of larger platforms (or coding your own templates), you might find Autopilot's options to be limiting. It's great for a beginner user who shouldn't be encumbered with those options, but I could see if being frustrating for others.

Everything is set up to be used very easily and and it is very intuitive. The menus are set up well and it's easy to find the areas that I need. Emails and landing pages are very easy to create, and they can be created quickly to help save time on campaigns and projects.

Act-On had a lot of resources, and their staff was great at answering any questions I had to make sure we got started on the right foot. Looking back, I would have preferred some additional training sessions since we didn't have any previous experience with Marketing Automation and best practices.

Alternatives Considered

I'm sure our team went through the whole vetting process. I was not involved in that part so I am unable to really say how Act-On compares to other solutions in the market. I can say that my experience has been nothing less than excellent and that I think my team made the right decision

While Autopilot cannot compete with the enterprise players (like HubSpot and Marketo), I think it seriously beats its competitors in terms of features for the price. If you have a small budget, you could exhaust it by purchasing all the software you need to build your funnel, and Autopilot is essentially and all-in-one solution. It gave us access to features like chat that we couldn't afford at the time, and their training materials were incredibly impactful to getting our marketing team up to speed

Return on Investment

  • Increased lead conversion efficiency
  • Increased output of marketing e-mails
  • Flawless integration with sales CRM; no mis-matched information or confusing leads for our Sales team

  • Autopilot has helped our agency build and segment our email database like never before. This has allowed us to nurture readers of blog posts to real clients.
  • Autopilot has helped clients also achieve better ROI. For example, in one instance it has helped an e-commerce client encourage repeat sales.
