Conga ActionGrid

ActionGrid works well for recruiter sourcing of very specific candidates. It is not the most effective tool for sourcing of a more complex type of profile. It does not allow for booleans and becomes slower when looking at large candidate pools.

Trello

It is excellent for multiple groups or users with multiple activities at any one time, or for a single user wanting to have several project sections going on at any one time. It enables the user to keep things separate but all contained within a single portal, but it can become quite cumbersome relatively quickly. The bigger the organisation, the more consideration needs to be given to how exactly Trello is used to give the users the best experience, or even if multiple instances of the platform is necessary.

Pros

Conga ActionGrid

  • Allows recruiters to service candidates within a radius of a desired city/location
  • Allows recruiters to see multiple fields/information on multiple candidates at once
  • Allows for easier ranking/sorting by salary, years of experience, etc

Trello

  • Project management across any size team
  • Sales CRM's can be built for free. Using power add-ons such as custom fields and integrations with gmail it is the best kept Sales CRM secret.
  • Collaboration for content management, content marketing and client on-boarding processes.

Cons

Conga ActionGrid

  • The speed of ActionGrid can be very slow when reviewing a large pool of results
Peggy Tambouridis profile photo

Trello

  • The ability to add playable videos right in the comments section
  • Dynamic links - once you set a link it uploads meta data as well (like putting a link on Facebook)
  • Better referral system - I refer hundreds of people but no longer get rewarded.

I'm not in charge of such a decision, but I am sure that we will continue to use Trello for the same purposes we have in the past.

Trello is ridiculously simple to use. Its user interface is well designed. Buttons and labels are clear, so you can tell at glance what something means. Plus, it's easy to back out of anything if you don't like what you've done, so there is no fear of messing things up unintentionally.

For our small business, getting a few of us started well on Trello was the key, I think. As long as a couple of us were really comfortable with the interface, we could lead others and help them with any questions. From now on, anyone who works with us just naturally uses Trello for information sharing - it's just part of what we do.

Alternatives Considered

Conga ActionGrid

I've only used Salesforce before and am now using Conga ActionGrid. Although Salesforce is great, it is only used to log candidate information and then log actions that have been performed. With Conga ActionGrid, we are able to log more specific details about candidates, activities and follow up items. Conga ActionGrid provides more tools that would benefit many departments

Trello

Trello is by far the most advanced and integrated program out there in the task management sector. Trello does what Basecamp and dapulse do and way more. Trello is great for teams that don't work right next to each other in an office. It's the best for virtual teams and offices.

Return on Investment

Conga ActionGrid

  • It has allowed for an easier sourcing of our candidate database which translates into placements

Trello

  • I've used both the free and pro version of Trello. If you are going to be collaborating with people out side of your trusted team, the Pro features are great for keeping things secure and private while sharing bits that need to be shared.
  • Since I mainly use the free version of Trello for my business, the ROI is totally worth it. I would gladly pay a small monthly subscription for the free features.
  • Trello has helped to keep my team organized and on task. It works great with a team where each person has a role to move the project to completion.
