Conga ActionGrid

  • It is perfect for finding opportunities near a certain zip code.
  • Also great for finding candidates in the same regard.

Wrike

Wrike is great for one off projects. It doesn't work well for ongoing projects or recurring projects. Highly complex Gantt charting is tough.

Pros

  • Organization
  • Filtration
Kyle Rapaport profile photo
  • Creating tasks for team members and having the team have access to the tasks to show what is coming up.
  • The ability for Wrike to work with many different programs and platforms. We used it with Dropbox and Gmail and the integration was seamless for adding tasks and subtasks to calendars.
  • The layout is simple and easy to use. As updates happen, elements have gotten easier to use. The ability to drag and drop items should be part of every project management program.
  • The Gantt charts were easy to work with (and make updates to) and print for our weekly status meetings. Many PM systems do not have this capability.

Cons

  • It could be more accurate
  • Better views would be nice. cleaner
  • Wish the refreshing was quicker

  • Wrike is very flexible and with such flexibility some trouble may come along. For example, with the folder structure, you can easily move a task or an entire folder to a wrong folder by mistake (with drag and drop). Not always you have the possibility to undo such a mistake. Example no.2: tagging is very useful, yet confusing sometimes. If you use more than a few tags for a task, not all tags will show (or "have room" in the task header).
  • You can create project templates (sample tasks with a given schedule exported into a file) but you will find them difficult to design and apply. There's a new implemented copy function which seems to be more useful.
  • I would like to see some useful functions like advanced folder sharing and more customization into the cheaper professional subscription.

Wrike is a solid tool with zero bugs and is investing a lot in developing their product. With lots of web resources for help and customer support, a Wiki and a blog for project managers, they already build a community of happy users and caught-up users at the same time. I don't see any strong reasons or any shortcoming that could make me leave this community

New users typically have a learning curve before they can fully utilize Wrike. Because it has so much functionality, naturally it takes time to learn.

E-mail ticket support. Not very fast, took an average 16-24 hrs to get a response (some time-zone issues, maybe) . Although Wrike is a SaaS, they also built some desktop tools for Outlook integration (plugin) and at the beginning we had a lot of trouble with it. Finally (after more than a month and a dozen e-mails) there was a release without the bugs that we discovered and then everithing turned in the right direction

Wrike does a great job of provide a breadth of videos for learning their program. This includes a 'getting started' sett of videos along with a collection of more in depth videos to assist more experienced users. Combined with their excellent chat support learning wrike is easy and it includes easy access to best practices.

Stick with it and resist the temptation to slack in your use of project management software.

Alternatives Considered

It's excellent. It really helps optimize a search.
Natalie Fiore profile photo
We find Wrike to be a much more collaborative tool than Microsoft Project. When we used Microsoft Project we had to designate one super user to manage the input and creation of projects and tasks. Also not all team members were able to access Microsof Project. With Wrike all team members are now responsible for inputting and managing their own tasks. Wrike is a much more intuitive tool than Microsoft Project and the organizational structure makes it easy to group projects and deadlines.

Return on Investment

  • It has benefited us positively, as I stated earlier- it allows us to filter down results of 65,000+ candidates to a search of 1-100 candidates.
Kyle Rapaport profile photo
  • We have seen an increase in employee efficiency by using Wrike. All team members are now accountable for their own project planning and tracking within Wrike. Gone are the days of missed deadlines and forgotten tasks.
