Success Factors is really well suited to handling needs of my organization. They've done a good job integrating with our course catalog and making it easy to book courses right from within the application. It falls short in letting managers cascade their objectives easily. When I cascade an objective, the cascaded objective will often inherit comments from my own objective and share them down to my reports - not ideal behavior.

- The alarms feature is wonderful. In the past, we have had employees save company files to an external device and we had no idea. Having the ability to trigger an alarm and capture screenshots when this occurs is extremely helpful.
- The analytics provide a good bit of insight. For example, we have an employee who wasn't getting any work done, because he was constantly evaluating software that would make his job easier. We were easily able to see what he was spending his time on by using reports as well as looking at the dashboard where you are able to view a breakdown of categories.
- Screen capturing is extremely beneficial. Instead of trying to piece a puzzle together, you can simply view the screenshot.

- BizX integration: It's a SuccessFactors Business Execution (BizX) platform to connect the talent management and human resource management. It has a comprehensive view of the organization's resources skills, expertise, experience, and competency, etc.
- Domain, Domain Restrictions and Roles: This is mainly to create an organizational structure and to provide the needed security permissions.
- Integration with Jam, Skype and WebEx, etc.

- Agent sometimes stops reporting for no apparent reason, causing discrepancies of data.
- There is no information about software limitations or restrictions, we found out that the agent doesn't work on older versions of MAC OS.
- Uninstalling agent from a machine sometimes does not cause it to stop showing as a user on the list, it just stops it from reporting data

- The app for ios and android have room for improvement. They are aware of the limitations but amount of access and functionality is not where it needs to be.
- The homepage of Successfactors takes longer to load and refresh itself. Especially true when viewing employee files. That is partially due to how much information is having to show on the page but it still seems to take more time than usual to show each screen.
- You can't change the amount of time the homepage will lock you out from inactivity. This might seem minuscule but it causes so many painful re-logins and time wasting effort to login again. There currently isn't an option to change the time before lockout.

Support is still lacking. If we don't have a critical business need where we're looking to license something new, there is no partnership with SuccessFactors. Unless of course you purchase the Platinum Support which we did not. It is difficult for us to take advantage of new functionality when we have professional services fees that will be incurred as a result. We're in a tough economy and our budgets are slim. We don't have wiggle room to add $5k here or $10k there. The overall integration into a total HCM solution is also lacking.

ActivTrak is a great program but it takes some getting used to while navigating all the menus and dialing down to a specific employee and sometimes the data doesn't appear like you'd hope. It can take a while to remember how to do something if you don't use it consistently. No single person manages our program so sometimes we need a refresher when accessing data after a few months but that usually applies to most applications.

Support is very easy. Live chat or a ticketing system. The support is helpful and kind.They are experts in their software and with the Employee Activity Tracking space; they know how to make it do what you want it to do and they'll help you do it. We've used their support sparingly. We've found that the software is powerful and feature rich; but also, has great documentation and support is there when we still are needing a nudge.

We never used anything like this before. We would mainly just check the firewall and search by the user which is fine, but it's not [as] clear cut [nor] designed to see all mobile offices that we have in place. This software allows us to monitor everything every employee does and it is well worth the price of the product.

As a whole, SuccessFactors is tough to beat. It's at its best when all of the modules are working together. There are few competitors that offer the full talent suite.Individually, the quality of the modules can vary. The performance and goal management modules perform well but the recruiting one significantly lags its competitors. The recruiting world has seen a lot of advances in technology over the last few years but these have yet to trickle down into the SuccessFactors module.

- Positive: When reviews come down, it is easier to quantify their place within the firm.
- Negative: Employees find this to be a negative move on the part of management. Sort of "Big Brother". We negate this by reminding them that its a reactive tool, not proactive.
