Acuity Scheduling

I honestly can't think of a situation where the system would be ill-suited to anyone. It's more appropriate for those who have more than one service to sell, I suppose. And it might not be as helpful when you're selling products (vs. services), so that would be one thing to improve.

It has done a great job once we were able to set it up and work through the frustrations that were apparent in the initial stages. We are using Chili Piper to simplify our lead flow for the sales team and allow prospects to quickly set up a meeting from our website and get something on the calendar. This also increased our demo's held percentage which gave our sales reps more at-bats.

Cons

Acuity Scheduling

  • I wish they had a lifetime plan. I'm tired of all these subscription plans.

Chili Piper

  • Interface feedback... I have never been reached out to by Chili Piper to ask what my thoughts are or where the product could be improved.
  • Resetting or cancelling an invite that was done improperly... have run into a few scenarios where a junior member of my team has not properly set up a meeting and rectifying the situation can sometimes be hard.
  • Making emails seem less marketing generated... pretty cookie cutter in regards to formatting.. but this is barely a complaint and more of an observation that can probably be alleviated by our admin.

Acuity Scheduling has been very reliable. If you don't believe me, check out their status page here. They do a pretty decent job maintaining their app. To be fair, it's a pretty simple tool so they shouldn't run into too many hiccups given it doesn't feature near as many options as other applications on the market run.

It's just very intuitive once you get the hang of it, which won't take long. They try not to make complex things very complex and they provide explanations for everything with a greyed-out question mark icon next to the function. Also, I love that they encourage people to just get live help when they need it.

Alternatives Considered

Acuity Scheduling

I do not like the ScheduleOnce interface. It's more confusing and time-consuming to set up. I like Acuity because it's easy to use, fast to set up and sync your availability, the Google calendar integration is easy, the mobile app works great, and it was easy to set up the text message and email reminders.

We actually have not used any products like Chili Piper as of yet here at PitchBook. In my last role at Onerent I also did not use Chili Piper... the closest thing that we used was part of outlook/salesforce capability

Return on Investment

Acuity Scheduling

  • Huge positive ROI.
  • Instead of wasting time going back and forth about times that work, I send the same link to all prospects and they can book the time that works for them -- I can use that time to dedicate to revenue-generating activities.
  • It has reduced no shows and allow me to automate the follow-up process between call booked and the actual call.
