As I have only used it in one business I can't say too much how relevant it would be for other types of business, eg Retail or Manufacturing. It doesn't appear to be specifically set up for ecommerce.

We wholesale products and it works well for that kind of business model.

Budget Maestro

If you're looking to get organized and stay organized in terms of cash flow numbers, budgets, inventory etc., Budget Maestro is a very good software to use. It is also a great tool for creating graphs and charts. We found that Budget Maestro produces a more "polished" report vs Microsoft Excel and other similar software.

Pros

  • Generic Inquiries are a very easy way to create custom reports.
  • The automation schedules are useful, we use these for confirming of shipments, creating invoices and emailing them. Reduces workload.
  • Open for integration with other software. We find the ease of connection to MS PowerBI very useful.

  • Reporting - Very easy to follow and produce high-quality reports for every aspect of budgeting, cash flow, and revenue data
  • Importing - We import a lot of data on a monthly basis. Budget Maestro is excellent at capturing Excel and CSV files
  • Asset Management - Budget Maestro is a great platform for storing asset related data and keeping inventory

Cons

  • The CRM module is very basic.
  • There is no supplier remittance function.
  • The API is basic, our ecommerce integration has had to be built nearly from scratch.

  • Wizards - The widgets and add-on features are limited and have a long way to go (at least on the current version)
  • Unnecessary features - Budget Maestro has added features for the sake of... adding features. A lot of "features" you would likely not use

It is very customisable and good value for money. It is also scalable for the future. The CRM and ecommerce integtration are the main downsides.

Alternatives Considered

NetSuite is much more expensive and is difficult to customise or integrate.
SAP is a more complex and powerful system, but several times more expensive to implement and run.

We initially did heavy research trying to find the best budgeting software around. We used several trials and decided that Budget Maestro was the best fit for our firm. The #1 reason we decided to go with this software was the user-friendliness of the platform. We were able to train 5 staff members over the course of 2 days

  • It has enabled up to easily access our system remotely, meaning we are able to be more flexible in our work.

  • Positive - We saved lots of man hours finding a simple, easy-to-use software that everyone could learn in a matter of days vs months/years
  • Positive - We use the chart/graph export feature frequently for presentations and client meetings. This has saved us lots of capital over time
  • Negative - We use (two) third-party softwares that we would love to integrate with Budget Maestro; however they do not currently integrate
