Fairly easy and intuitive user interface with common features throughout the platform makes it easy to train users new to the system. However, it requires a lot of dev customization with limited features that a power user/administrator can manipulate. Doesn't provide a very customized experience to the individual user. Seems that the best scenario is for companies that will use implementation and customization services to maximize the features of Acumatica.

It is great for startups and people that are still developing ideas. Once you are in the market it does not really have much of a use within an organization, at that stage it just becomes the reference to what core your business is. Tracking business growth is great, but again only for first 1-3 years in the market (depending on growth).

Pros

  • Since our sales team is spread all around the country, Acumatica being based in the cloud really helps us set up and access the platform in any location as long as there is an internet connection. This saves us time and money because there is no need to set up hardware, servers, and networks in order to access Acumatica.
  • The customization of dashboards and the creation of specific conditions to show a certain metric is what amazes us as we use Acumatica. To give an example, we wanted to track the new leads that are being generated by our sales team per month. We were able to capture the data by setting the parameters and added this report to management's dashboard.

Cons

  • Most of our salespeople rely on their Mobile Phones to access Acumatica, and we feel that the Mobile App of Acumatica needs improvement. The functionalities are limited, therefore we need to access a desktop or laptop to create some entries.

  • It is software on its own and there are no abilities to connect to any other software so you have to input data constantly.
  • If you start within this software most likely over time this will be just your reference for the definition of your business, once you start growing there is not much to use here, better solutions are out there.
  • It is not a management tool as they advertise it.

It is very customisable and good value for money. It is also scalable for the future. The CRM and ecommerce integtration are the main downsides.

Alternatives Considered

I liked the flexibility of Salesforce and the ability to customize look and feel with minimal development involvement. Email integration was smooth and seamless. However, Acumatica's ability to customize certain business processes to meet our particular day to day operational needs and account based fee as opposed to user based fees made it a better option for our organization.

We did not really find a similar solution. All other solutions are focused on project management, [there's] nothing on generating a business plan. There is nothing on this level that helps people without any business experience write the plan. They have samples, instructions what to write where, how to prepare for pitching, and generate dashboards. Nothing in this market gets anywhere close to this solution.
