As I have only used it in one business I can't say too much how relevant it would be for other types of business, eg Retail or Manufacturing. It doesn't appear to be specifically set up for ecommerce.

We wholesale products and it works well for that kind of business model.

Pros

  • Generic Inquiries are a very easy way to create custom reports.
  • The automation schedules are useful, we use these for confirming of shipments, creating invoices and emailing them. Reduces workload.
  • Open for integration with other software. We find the ease of connection to MS PowerBI very useful.

  • The API is basic, our ecommerce integration has had to be built nearly from scratch.

I love the convenience of Sage One as I can access it anywhere I have internet. I also love how user friendly it is, my customers who do not have any kind of accounting or bookkeeping background are able to quickly learn systems and procedures that I help set up for them to stay on top of their finances to work towards having a successful business. It has so many features to help make things easy for you to keep track of your finances allowing you more time to work on your business.

They are always there no matter how big or small my issue may be to support me and my customers to come up with a solution. The staff is always there by chat or phone and even remote support to solve any issues. I have noticed that Sage is always training there staff keeping the up to date on all the new releases so they are better able to support us.

I find the online training was very informative and they answered all my questions. I am also certified in Sage One and provided online training in the program which I have set up several people on and they love how it keeps them organized.

Alternatives Considered

NetSuite is much more expensive and is difficult to customise or integrate.
SAP is a more complex and powerful system, but several times more expensive to implement and run.

The only additional advantage of using Sage One is its ability to be accessed from anywhere using an internet connection. That as well as the function to allow for automated bank imports. This allows for faster processing; increasing productivity and leaves more time for other business. The vast different report options also assist in making it a great product.

  • Time to match customer payments has decreased by approximately 30%.
  • Time to enter sales orders has decreased by approx 10%.
  • It has enabled up to easily access our system remotely, meaning we are able to be more flexible in our work.

  • The product saves us a lot of time in training - everything is very self explanatory and very user friendly.
  • The fact that we can access the client records from our office assists us with many of the problems we had in the past. We no longer need to make copies or backups of client work. We also no longer need to drive out to our clients to provide assistance, assistance is just a phone call and a click away.
  • Employee efficiency has also increased due to the ease of access in the program (quick view).
