It is well suited for mid-size companies to have a budgeting, forecasting, and reporting platform. The system needs data and someone to maintain it so it would not be well suited for a small company or one without a dedicated finance team.

Oracle 11.5.10 CRM is a great tool and database, but it has flexibility limitations, mostly in its GUI. For extremely standardized or infrequent use, this is the tool to use, as its data validation and basic setup is perfect for what Oracle considers to be "best practices."I would still recommend Oracle 11.5.10 otherwise, as well, but if speed or conditional information were necessary, I would recommend interfacing with a web GUI to allow for a more streamlined and purposeful front-end.A close relationship also should be considered between service operations and IT to ensure that service exceptions are maintained in a timely and organized fashion.

Pros

  • Infinite ability to group accounts and departments for reporting. The only limitation is the number of ways that you think of in terms of consolidating the information.
  • Being able to build scalable, complex, distributed, budget models. With the data we can bring into the system and the formulas we can use we have all the functionality of the spreadsheet, but with the flexibility to allow leaders across the organization to participate and update their section.
  • The platform allows multiple forecast/budget versions which allows for version control and sensitivity analysis. I can lock versions from changes while quickly creating a new version to see the impact of a +or- scenario to the company’s profitability.
  • With the OfficeConnect tool we can leverage Excel to provide repeatable reports for the board and other business leaders that are repeatable from month to month. While the platform provides more flexibility than an accounting package it still has limitations. Using OfficeConnect I can leverage the power of the Microsoft suite of Excel/Word/PowerPoint directly.

  • I feel like CRM is pretty intuitive for the user as it is a point and click product. It also gives the user some flexibility in customizing the layouts of their pages so that the information is in the order they need it.
  • From an Admin perspective, it is pretty easy to customize as far as the field types, field names, color scheme, page layouts, etc. I did not have an IT background when I started with Oracle CRM, and I was able to learn pretty quickly.
  • If you are proficient in Java and HTML, you can pretty much customize the CRM product as much as you want with applets, buttons, integration with other internal websites, such as SharePoint.
  • The reporting area is pretty robust since it allows you to combine subject areas into one report, and offers many different layout options such as pivot tables, charts, graphs, narrative views (for documents), and dynamic dashboards.

Cons

  • The layout of the various reporting options could be displayed in a more user-friendlier way. It's a bit difficult to locate where to find the reports.
  • I'm finding that the drill down feature from the monthly financials section is not as convenient as it should be.
  • The exporting to Excel or PDF format is a bit off - it's time consuming to manipulate the excel to a regular paper size.

There is nothing else out there that even comes close. I think of what the perfect solution is for planning, consolidations, reporting and analysis and Adaptive is already there. Nobody else is even in the same ball park. The support staff is the greatest. They respond very rapidly with the same level of concern that we as customers show

I give this rating because I personally don't have any difficulty using the system. I didn't have any difficulty learning the system either. I know that in my position I am taking complaints from users who are having issues with the oracle sites but most of the time it is user error or a technical issue and they need to be using it in the best way possible. I do think it is one of the easiest sites for applying online and hiring candidates. In my 10 years of dealing with so many other recruiting and career sites like Kenexa Brassring, Erecruit or Peoplesoft, I don't recommend any of those at all. Oracle CRM/Taleo is by far the easiest site for applicants to apply, the easiest site for recruiters to hire and the easiest site to manage your hires.

I give this rating because I don't have any complaints in the area of performance. In my opinion the product's performance is right on the mark. In comparison to other systems I have used for the same purpose - recruiting, hiring and managing hires, I have found Oracle's performance to be the best. Oracle system flows better than any other recruiting system out there.

Support requests are always handled promptly and resolved favourably.Many user support requests arise during initial deployment and use and often represent questions relating to best methods or how to approach their particular situation, which we gladly assist with as we provide the appropriate skills transfer training and assistance.As clients become more knowledgeable in working with the product suite then they tend not to ask many questions.

I give this rating based only on the fact where I believe the support team could improve a little. I believe the area they could improve is timeliness of a resolution. It seems to take a long time to get a final resolution. There is some back and forth typically when I believe a lot of times all of the information is there to provide a response. I have found that if you call them you will get a response a lot faster than if you submit an SR on the Oracle site but most of our team will complete the SR online so that is my only complaint. The support is excellent in every other area. The speed at which we receive a solution online is only thing I would improve.

When we implement Oracle and Taleo to different clients it typically goes pretty smoothly. When we do system upgrades we usually test the main issues the clients are having just to make sure there are not outstanding issues or errors. I don't have any examples where implementation went poorly. It typically goes well and clients are pleased with the final result. The only complaint would be the time it takes to implement

Breadth of Deployment

It is used throughout the company in different divisions and at our corporate level. When used in a division recently the personnel from different departments directly inputted data and monitored their budget against actual. It is very user friendly and flexible.

Alternatives Considered

For us, it came down to Adaptive Insights and Host Analytics. The benefits seemed very comparable. We ultimately decided on Adaptive Insights because it cost less to implement and the time to implement was less compared to Host Analytics. We are VERY happy with our decision to go with Adaptive Insights.

It is easily integrated. Because of this we are able to adapt to this program quickly since it is connected to our other CRM. Ultimately, it is about having a proper way to track our customers to service all of their needs. This creates an organized approach and can be custom to each sales reps needs.
