Facebook for Business

It's suited for when you are growing your online presence. Everyone is on Facebook and Instagram and therefore Facebook for Business is the way to go for new business. It is also cheaper and easier to use than Google Ads. However, Facebook is having a lot of political troubles lately with its role in political polarization everywhere and mishandling of several data breaches. If your organization and business have certain stance or ethics on this, you might want to stay off from Facebook for Business.

Pros

  • Easy setup
  • Smart product

  • Delivering news to existing readers: Facebook remains the biggest source for social media according to our Google Analytics. We have significant loyal readers on our Facebook page, which we manage with Facebook for Business.
  • Reaching out new reader base: We are growing as an online media platform and now have significantly more content compared to our newspaper. If our print readers are mainly businesspeople with more mature age, with Facebook for Business we can reach new and younger readers through ads.
  • Promoting the right content to the right people: As stated above, we have a lot of contents that are varying in its nature. We understand that every reader has their own preference, and Facebook for Business helps us target the right readers.

Cons

  • Slow design
  • Needs more analytics

  • This isn't technically an issue with the software, but I have certainly experienced ethical qualms regarding user privacy. I don't love the thought of exploiting millions of users' personal information to sell a product.
  • Several little-used, deprecated, or de-facto deprecated ad formats show up in the previewer for a given ad--makes the tool feel outdated and unpolished.
  • There's a bit of a learning curve with the unintuitive navigation of Campaign > Ad Set > Ad. A better tutorial would help the user hit the ground running instead of clicking through each section trying to work out the differences of each.

We have to continue using this tool in order to be effective on this marketing platform. Though there are several changes I wish we could see, the fact is that we will still need to use this product to provide customers with the information they need.

I find it very cumbersome to use. It is a clunky system and often times very buggy. The customer support, though helpful, is very slow to resolve issues.

Because they have really thought ahead and made all the help content very simple to understand and the training videos were very detailed.

Take all of the training offered through Facebook first before attempting to create a page on the platform. Learn all of the capabilities available to you. Learn about the different types of audiences who might be interested in seeing your page. Create short video clips as though they are viewed at a much higher rate than anything else. Offer free giveaways or raffles to further build to your list of prospects and drive traffic to your website

Alternatives Considered

AdGear was the easiest tech to start on and it was my manager's choice. He enjoyed it though would get frustrated by the UI. I found it easy to use and set up; through lacking meaningful more insights into leads and lead generation to acquire important information when converting to users on the platform.

Facebook for business stacks up against them because it has the furthest reaching arms that include people from every walk of life, and every generation of people. It has the ability to gain the most attraction the fastest. The capabilities of the data analytics is truly remarkable. And the varying options for pricing on publishing ads can be customized to work virtually any budget. Also, it has the most extensive training videos that make it easy to learn how to use the site to the fullest capabilities.

  • prior to beginning the facebook business page RFQ's came in to the office at an average of 7 per week, following the development of the facebook page average grew to 35 per week.
  • Sales nearly doubled in less than 18 months, and again doubled in the next year
  • International distribution sales relationship were formed due to the product demos on Facebook
  • We increased revenue so much that the company allowed us the funding to redesign the website, redevelop the product to upgrade many key features, begin the branding of all our materials for shipping, and tech documents, youtube channel etc...
