Likelihood to Recommend

AdGear Advertiser

Finding a large group of customers or leads to onboard to app and encourage use. Can be a struggle to find the best fit leads for your product as there can be greater levels of analytical information to filter potential leads by. Does the job when running a campaign to onboard

Facebook for Business

Unfortunately, I have to recommend Facebook for Business because it's quite literally the only option, and we all know that it's imperative for businesses to have a digital presence on the platform. However, I think a lot of updates are in order for the process to truly be user-friendly.

Pros

  • Easy setup
  • Smart product

  • You can create target audience groups based on a variety of selected profile indicators to compile robust lists of potential customers to share content with.
  • You can analyze the Facebook insights which include data analytics that reveal what posts, content, videos are working to gain attention, followers, likes and also what is not working, and also show when the best times of day are to post content according to when Facebook users typically viewed the content
  • You can create marketing campaigns including giveaways, raffles, surveys etc... to keep your audience engaged and also collect profile data.
  • You can create, publish and track ads in Facebook and decide how much to spend or see how much it would cost to reach your intended target audience lists.
  • You can also choose to not allow users posts, comments etc... without prior approval first.
  • Build a relationship with your intended target audience using engaging content that appeals to one of their primary emotions.

Cons

  • Slow design
  • Needs more analytics

  • They just recently updated the user interface, but it still looks very engineer designed. It's not pretty or user-friendly. They could do a complete overhaul of it and make it look so much nicer.
  • They can work on creating an app for phones and tablets. Right now I have to jump between several apps to accomplish what needs to be done.
  • They could create better reporting. The graphs now are super simple and don't really provide the most important data. You have to visit several layers or pages to see the information you want.

Because Facebook for Business is free. There is no renewal. Maybe I should have put a ZERO because you can't really renew your Facebook for Business account. I put 10 because it is a no-brainer to use. I would recommend it to other people. Actually I do recommend it to other people

I find it very cumbersome to use. It is a clunky system and often times very buggy. The customer support, though helpful, is very slow to resolve issues.

Because they have really thought ahead and made all the help content very simple to understand and the training videos were very detailed.

Take all of the training offered through Facebook first before attempting to create a page on the platform. Learn all of the capabilities available to you. Learn about the different types of audiences who might be interested in seeing your page. Create short video clips as though they are viewed at a much higher rate than anything else. Offer free giveaways or raffles to further build to your list of prospects and drive traffic to your website

Alternatives Considered

AdGear was the easiest tech to start on and it was my manager's choice. He enjoyed it though would get frustrated by the UI. I found it easy to use and set up; through lacking meaningful more insights into leads and lead generation to acquire important information when converting to users on the platform.

We have used both Twitter ads and LinkedIn ads as well, but we have seen the most results with Facebook for Business

Return on Investment

  • Helped onboard users
  • Lacked meaningful segmentation

  • Facebook for Business has been a great tool to help us increase our upgrades during a sale. By creating a custom audience, we can target our existing members to make them aware of any sales or promotions we have.
