It allows S2S integration. It's the appropriate choice out of all mobile app tracking software as it is very flexible, shows very accurate data, is easy to learn how to use the dashboards, and offers the option to create tailored audiences. It's not so well structured when it comes to reporting, as its dashboard doesn't allow downloading data in bulk by adding different filters.

BrowserStack

If you need to test websites on a device that you do not have readily available, BrowserStack is a great solution. Its ability to let you inspect the code from the browser makes testing and doing QA on sites easier. It's difficult to see any errors from an iPhone, for example, on the device itself, but BrowserStack allows to you to inspect that code just like you would on a desktop browser. If you need to test across every device very quickly, this may not be the best solution. The slowness in switching devices can be frustrating when you are on a time crunch. In the case of my department, it solved a real need that we had to see exactly what our customers are seeing and be able to resolve any device issues for them.

Pros

Adjust Attribution

  • Tracking installs on mobile app campaigns on Android or iOS, as well as UAC campaigns.
  • Tracking in-app actions on our mobile campaigns.
  • Showing more accurate numbers, since it counts pure installs from new users only without counting re-installs,
  • Counts installs only after first opening of the app, while Google and Apple count also downloads even if the app doesn't get installed or opened after.

BrowserStack

  • BrowserStack enables testing against real browser versions - not just emulated user/agents screen sizes on different rendering engines that you get with browser debugging tools. Gives a real experience.
  • BrowserStack allows for quick switching between devices and browsers. At the click of a mouse, you can jump between devices and the webpage you're looking at will be transferred to the new device. Speeds up testing.
  • BrowserStack gives access to an entire device library for a simple subscription fee. Maintaining a collection of devices this big would be hugely expensive too. It saves money.
  • BrowserStack allows automated testing, using familiar Selenium, to help speed up more involved testing programmes.

Cons

Adjust Attribution

  • The reporting dashboard is not very easy to navigate, it doesn't offer enough options.
  • You can't download granular level data for all channels at once. Adding this as an option would save a lot of time when analyzing the performance and doing reporting.

BrowserStack

  • Server performance when many users are testing seems to degrade over time.
  • Cost depending on your team size and needs can grow higher than some teams are willing to dedicate for device testing.
  • Less expensive options put caps on usage that can limit what can be accomplished on the testing platform.

BrowserStack

BrowserStack 8.0
Based on 5 answers
It's simply a must-have tool. As a designer, I have to ensure my work is at least functional in older browsers. I also have to ensure that, when I design for mobile devices, any differences between platforms aren't problematic. BrowserStack allows me to test my work in a fraction of the time, with a whole lot more accuracy.

Alternatives Considered

Adjust Attribution

Kochava is the most popular one and has a better dashboard, offering many options for visualizing data. Adjust has a poor dashboard in comparison to Kochava, but offers easier integration with SDK and is cheaper. I don't think adjust shares device IDs, though. Its attribution is very accurate and offers very good solutions for fraud prevention

BrowserStack

Compared to other products I've found BrowserStack to have an easy-to-use interface, it offers all the platforms I need and it runs quickly and reliably. The browser plugin is an especially useful feature so I can almost instantly open a URL in one of my BrowserStack presets. It proved useful for basic use at the free price level and for large team use at the higher price level.

Return on Investment

Adjust Attribution

  • It had positive impact because it allows tracking data without sharing it with Google
  • It's easy to integrate with all channels and many platforms, such as AdWords, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
  • By creating audiences, we've targeted most valuable users to the business

BrowserStack

  • We've been able to reduce the amount of plugins and add on needed in my team's browsers which is great for general use
  • With a single license we no longer need to hunt down older browser versions for testing which can prove almost impossible to find
  • The ability to not only spin up a specific browser but ALSO a specific version of an operating system means that instead of needing a virtual box or multiple machines set up for various combinations, it's all in one place making testing MUCH faster (and letting us increase margins)
