AdMob

It is very quick to integrate with the application. You will start earning within a few days. It has a well-written API. You can go for it if you want a quick implementation but if you want to highly customize your ads then Admob is not a good [fit]. It has also less CPC in comparison to its competitors.

Twitter Ads

1) Getting traffic of users.2) 2nd most used platform where a number of users are higher.3) Topic related audience and targeted users.4) Tracking of users and know what they want to see and what they don't want to check.5) Gets lots of spam which is not good for advertisers too.6) The clutter of posts makes it a possibility that the users might not want to engage with your post particularly.

Pros

  • It has a good fill rate, for our applications we got around 99.9% to 100%.
  • Better targetted ads, so it increases CTR.

  • Ease of use. It's very simple to add new creative to an existing campaign, or to quickly promote a tweet.
  • Reporting. I appreciate the dashboard that shows how many organic and paid impressions tweets have received, as well as the resulting engagements.
  • Low-lift advertising. The new auto-promote option makes it so I don't have to choose which tweets I want to promote.

Cons

  • Admob provides fewer CPCs compares to its competitors in the market.
  • Earning report needs to have a dashboard so that the user can easily monitor their earnings. There needs to be dashboard which shows aggregated reports as well as [reports] on application level.

  • You must be careful how you handle your advertising to avoid saturating users. On Twitter if there is something that abounds, it is advertising.
  • I have seen little intention on the part of Twitter, as great as the company is, to teach its users to use this application for advertising. Many use it to waste their time and not to take advantage of it.

The tool is ok to use, and ads are becoming more skippable on Twitter, so we are unsure as a company if it's still a good channel for direct response messaging. It does not perform as efficiently as other social platforms for lower funnel marketing. It does well for awareness campaigns that are set and forget, but optimizing for DR is not as efficient when you are trying to manage the ads on the client side.

Alternatives Considered

We have used a few other ad networks, but they are not suited to our requirements. Admob has the best fill rate for Indian apps, that others lack. For our few apps that target USA and European customers, we use Mobclix. Admob has also fewer configurable thresholds for payments. For payment and taxation, they provide options which are as per the state laws.

Since the number of fake users is more on Facebook or any other social media panels than Twitter, Twitter platform marks the best platform to connect with potential clients. Although Facebook has more users than Twitter, Twitter gives better and potential clients. Targeted by keywords in tweets or hashtags. 1. Good Message Amplification.2. Good Campaigns control.3. Great Features.
