I like how easy it is to install the products. The cloud-based service allows me to simply install Adobe products; If a computer fails, it's easy for me to eliminate the user and read the user, who sends them an invitation to install on their new computer. The implementation was easy for the cloud-based products ... it's not easy for the volume license

There are so many opportunities to use Conga, and that's what I love about it. We use it for a few of our documents, but now I've become aware of how many more of our processes we can move from manual entry to automative processes. It's probably well suited for organizations that use word documents, write ups, and other items- probably wouldn't be well suited for organizations just needing to see the numbers

Cons

  • The app can be a little slow and somewhat laggy when you're importing or exporting big documents
  • The application can be really difficult and confusing to use when you start using it for the first time

  • Template error reporting could be a little better. Sometimes a generic error message is displayed and it's difficult to pinpoint where the error is in the template.
  • I had a difficult time setting up hands on signing to allow customers to hand draw their signatures on documents on their iPads via Adobe Sign. It's possible that these bugs have been fixed since then as it was an extremely new feature at the time.

Alternatives Considered

There's a lot of alternative programs that can edit or manipulate PDF files, but Adobe Acrobat DC is definitely full-featured and ticks all of the boxes of what the application should be able to do. The program is constantly adding new features that are beyond the scope of what we need to use the application for, but it is always nice to see that they are always working on improving the functionality of the program.

In my mind, Conga blows away all the competition. The templates are extremely versatile and don't require any additional software (other than MS Office) in order to design. The support that Conga provides is world class and I never had a negative experience with them; all cases were resolved within a day or two of being opened. There is also an incredible amount of e-learning information available to help you get up and running.

  • Conga reduced the need to hire additional FTEs in departments with the highest amount of document generation.
  • Conga decreases the time spent generating and sending invoices to customers so the payments are received faster.
  • Conga allows more advanced functionality than standard Salesforce email templates. This allowed the business to automate emails that could not have been done previously.
