Likelihood to Recommend

Adobe Acrobat DC

People who are editing documents frequently, especially PDF documents, will really benefit from Adobe Acrobat DC. Also, people are creating simple graphics for distribution to their consumers will benefit from using Adobe Acrobat DC. People who are not frequently editing PDFs, or who do not need to edit PDFs at all will do fine with the free version of Adobe Acrobat Reader.

FileHold

FileHold is well suited because it reduces the paper use for approvals. It also allows the managers to track the time employees spend sending files for approval and how many times it takes them to get the approval. FileHold is less appropriate when the approvers of a document are out of office and they did not set up a backup approver

Pros

  • User-friendly interface doesn't necessitate a lot of staff training prior to using the software for the first time.
  • Easy to protect final documents from easily being changed/edited by third parties.
  • Especially useful for making fill-able forms and rearranging the order of document pages.
  • Works remarkably well with Microsoft Office. Conversions are easy and almost error-free.

  • Whenever there was an update done to the program, we would run into multiple issues.

Usability

Adobe Acrobat DC8.0
Based on 1 answer
Overall, Adobe Acrobat DC provides an easy user interface. The program can take some time to get used to, just like most programming you use, but once the software is understood it is very easy for users to use. Compared to many programs this is very easy for people to use.

Performance

Adobe Acrobat DC8.0
Based on 1 answer
Overall, Adobe Acrobat DC performs at an acceptable rate. The software takes some time to load, but nothing that is unreasonable when launching a document. The program responds at a reasonable speed and performs well when operating tasks. It takes time for it to evaluate a document when you request to edit the document, but that is understandable considering it is identifying words and such in the document.

Alternatives Considered

I have tried using some online versions of .pdf readers and document extractors, but having the full desktop software is far less clunky and infinitely more secure.

I find FileHold more useful than SAP at times. It is easier to use, you do not need transaction codes. Both programs allow you to run reports. I am not sure if SAP could be compared with FileHold due to the fact that I use SAP to get approval and funding on tooling contracts. However, in FileHold, all you get is an approval from your supervisors. If all the departments would use FileHold, it would be more efficient and effective.

Return on Investment

  • It allows us to adjust forms to our needs. So we can change the wording from one department to another without having to create entirely new forms.
  • Creating fillable forms allows work to be done quicker because you don't have to mess with formatting due to filling in.
  • We can lock the forms so we can send to people outside the organization and not worry about terms being changed.
