Adobe Analytics

Adobe Analytics is great for customizing once you get used to the bogged down UI and the unhelpful location of items. we've used it to mimic paywall systems of costly companies. We have base reports set up to manage our paywalls set up in Adobe and they work great. But getting at the minute data is where the issue comes in and the add-ons are needed.

Net-Results

In my experience, Net-Results is best suited for marketing organizations that demand complex interactions with their prospects. That's not to say Net-Results wouldn't work well for an organization that just wants to do blast email campaigns, but there are a ton of simplistic solutions out there that can do that. Net-Results manages complexity well

Pros

  • Next Page Flow reports provide a quick and easy way to see what path customers are taking on the website.
  • The flexibility that creating segments gives the user for analysis purposes is great. A lot of insights can be generated when different segments are compared.
  • The web interface allows for users to quickly pick up on how to use Adobe Analytics, which is a huge advantage over just pointing people to where the raw data can be found since middle management and executives shouldn't be spending time coding and trying to get the data into a visually useful format.

  • Intuitive and easy to use.
  • Excellent customer support: they respond immediately and know their product inside out.
  • Exceptional metrics and reporting capabilities.

Cons

  • I believe that there are some limitations in the reporting, mainly in specific areas. I think there is some opportunity to enhance the capabilities in graphs and the layout of the reporting in general.
  • Along with the above example, I think they could do a lot more from a visualization perspective. Being limited in the way we can present the data makes it hard sometimes to accomplish the way we envision some things to turn out.
  • We have run into some glitches when trying to load a report. The page would keep trying to load and would not complete the report request. I reached out to client care and even they had an issue diagnosing the issue.

  • New pricing models are very expensive compared to old pricing model, even though it includes several additional tools, most of which seem to be beneficial
  • Horrible support experience despite working with escalation teams to try and resolve
  • Several bugs in recent releases which remain unresolved for many months at a time

They are a great company, with great support and have a great product. What more could you ask for

Usability

Adobe Analytics6.8

Again, learning how to use the system is difficult. It is nearly unusable if you haven't received training, and training from Adobe is EXTREMELY expensive

Net Results is pretty easy to use and understand. I wouldn't say that it is the best in comparison to MailChimp's drag and drop email builder, but Net Results do so much more than MailChimp that it is hard to even compare the two. Overall Net Results has good usability

Reliability and Availability

Adobe SiteCatalyst has a good up-time track record, but there are cases in which the interface reports a "Network Acceleration" issue, which can be frustrating. There are also times when data can be "latent" for customers, but most of these cases are due to spikes in traffic or temporary server issues.

Performance

For the most part, Adobe SiteCatalyst reports work ok, but there are cases in which reports take a long time to return. These cases are usually when too much data has been stored in Conversion Variables (eVars).

Support

Adobe Analytics5.7
Based on 9 answers
I have had many clients that are not thrilled with some aspects of the support. I think the actual day-to-day technical support (ClientCare) is great, but I have heard (and experienced) complaints about the the longer-term services (initial implementation, account management).

In-Person Training

Adobe Analytics3.6
Based on 3 answers
Myself and others have found the in-person training ok, but not outstanding. Trainers are good at explaining how to use the product features, but sometimes lack "real-world" experience on how to use the product as they are people who have often not previously been web analysts. There is also a shortcoming in company-provided training on advanced uses of the product. The implementation training is very good.

Online Training

Adobe Analytics8.0
Based on 4 answers
The online training for Adobe SiteCatalyst consists of short product videos. These are ok, but only go so far. For a while Adobe charged a fee for this, but recently made these available for free. There are many great blog posts that help users learn how to apply the product as well.

Implementation

Adobe Analytics8.0
Based on 7 answers
The success of implementations depend primarily on the solution design, and also on the ability to work with developers to get the solution implemented correctly. This is not an aspect of the product per se.

Alternatives Considered

We also use Google Analytics. I still use Google Analytics for evaluating Google Adwords, but use Adobe Analytics for most of my day to day analysis. We chose Adobe analytics because we were using some other Adobe products that this ties into nicely. We also wanted better ways to segment our traffic between our B2B and B2C and this gave us the flexibility we needed

Constant Contact was great for what it was. We were wanting to see who was visiting our website and be able to get more leads that way. When we found out that Net-Results offered email marketing as well it made sense to use that. Creating, building and sending the emails to our clients and potential clients is easy to do

Return on Investment

  • Adobe SiteCatalyst derives its ROI from improvements made to the website and conversion rate increases that can be attributed directly to use of SiteCatalyst.

  • Lead generation - converting prospects into leads. Our entire sales process begins with Net-Resuts. We add prospects to our lists and then use Net-Results to initiate - and score - engagement so that by the time Sales intervenes, we have nurtured a hot lead with a well understood history of activity.
