Likelihood to Recommend

Adobe Analytics

I think Adobe Analytics is well suited for small or large businesses with the brain power to understand how the platform works and then use it to its full extent. It is a powerful platform that can become costly. I would not recommend AA to people who are beginners or have a limited budget for analytics.

OAA seems to work best translating easy to read reports. This works great when we don't need too much overhead just a quick report to get out to our sales team. Time can be a crunch at times so this is a huge plus.

Pros

  • Can combine various digital platforms in just one view.
  • The speed with which it pulls historical data.
  • Very appealing visuals and switching between trended view and ranked view.
No photo available
  • Very easy to integrate from other software such as SalesForce, Gmail, and Tenfold
  • Easy to format and produce reports without too much technical knowledge. Very easy to read and convey the data needed
  • Scales quite well with the amount of data we are processing on a monthly basis

Cons

  • Because it is a web interface, sometimes it's just slow. This could be on the user's side, or on Adobe's side, but it does get annoying when reports or dashboards take a long time to load.
  • A lot of the things I use AA for I learned myself as it was pretty intuitive, but there are many other features that I didn't really understand what they were for or how to utilize them.

  • At times OAA seem to be unstable and is known to crash. Stability can be a issue
  • Formatting, fonts, and characters customization is lacking. It would be nice to be able to create a custom repeat using the above features
  • It can be pricey compared to other analytical software

We've found multiple uses for Adobe Analytics in our organization. Each department analyzes the data they need and creates actionables based off of that data. For E-Commerce, we're constantly using data to analyze user engagement, website performance and evaluate ROI.

Usability

I use Ad Hoc and Omniture. If I had to compare the two (which I have throughout the review), I would have to give AA an overall 9. We do not pay for "Adobe Workspace" and have limited seats available for Ad Hoc. I've experienced frustration with creating reports in Omniture and waiting for the page to reload.

Reliability and Availability

Adobe SiteCatalyst has great actual uptime in the most standard sense, but long lag times in data during critical time periods (i.e. Holidays) I would consider to be an issue with availability.

The speed with which visualizations and data sets are returned within the tool and or data warehouse can be dissapointing.

Support

Not very many companies get this one right, but I will say that although I may not like their standard technical support, they do make it very available and with the help of a good account representative service issues can be handled well.

In-Person Training

Adobe Analytics3.6
Based on 3 answers
It was a one-day training several years ago that cost the organization several thousand dollars. There were only about 10 people in the training class. Adobe tried to cram so much information into that one-day class that none of our users felt like they really learned anything helpful from the experience. Follow-up training is too expensive

Online Training

Adobe Analytics8.0
Based on 4 answers
The online training for Adobe SiteCatalyst consists of short product videos. These are ok, but only go so far. For a while Adobe charged a fee for this, but recently made these available for free. There are many great blog posts that help users learn how to apply the product as well.

Implementation

Adobe Analytics8.0
Based on 7 answers
I have found that initial SiteCatalyst implementations are too basic to be useful. Adobe professional services is usually tasked with the initial implementation using their "Fusion" methodology. This is good for vertical-based basics, but I find that many clients fail to go beyond this. This has the negative effect of selling SiteCatalyst short within the organization, since first impressions can be long-lasting.

Alternatives Considered

Adobe Analytics and Google Analytics are most often compared. Google Analytics has become a favorite for ease and cost. But Adobe Analytics still is the most advanced for robust enterprise implementation. I recommend GA for smaller clients and Adobe Analytics when it is the legacy system or a much larger organization that has the internal resources to manage the software.

SAS and OAA for the most part in our testing where very equal in performance and reporting. Ultimately we went with OAA since our company has multiple Oracle products in use throughout our engineering team. We felt comfortable with Oracle support since we have had conversation in the past.

Return on Investment

  • Positive - Since implementation we've received more business
  • Positive - You can literally track your ROI using Adobe Analytics.
  • Negative - The first payment is a little hard to swallow, but you'll make that investment back.

  • Opens a great communication channel between engineering and sales. This provides current data and trends which can be used as a marketing purpose to perspective clients.
  • The ease of use has also allow for less time of setting up/ deploying analytic software. For the most part it is stable
