Adobe Analytics

Adobe Analytics is great for customizing once you get used to the bogged down UI and the unhelpful location of items. we've used it to mimic paywall systems of costly companies. We have base reports set up to manage our paywalls set up in Adobe and they work great. But getting at the minute data is where the issue comes in and the add-ons are needed.

For different acquisition campaigns, we create specific segments of online visitors that we find that have the highest potential of converting. Either Krux is plugged server-to-server to the acquisition partner or we put the partner's tag in Krux SuperTag. In both ways, this is how we send our segments to these partners. Once they have our segments, we can do our acquisition campaign only on the segments that we have sent. We can also do specific marketing personalisation on our website to specific segments that include CRM data. This way of using Krux is great to increase customer loyalty.Krux is less appropriate if you want to use other solution's algorithms to do your retargeting. With Krux, the users are the intelligence and [you] need to dig to identify visitors and users with high potential.

Pros

  • Reliable servers providing excellent uptime.
  • Extensive customization which includes a significant amount of custom variables, limited only by coding ability and imagination.
  • Continuous development with new features and enhancements released often.

  • Agnotistic solution that can be plugged with any solution of the market. They are willing to be plugged with the solutions we need.
  • Acts like a tag manager through their Supertag feature. We can put all the tags and pixels of different retargeting services that can't be plugged server-to-server (ex. Adwords, Facebook, etc.) and have them fire their tag only to users present in specific Krux segments.
  • Service support: available by emailing through a ticketing system. They respond quickly to our questions and problems.

Cons

  • Price point-some of Adobe Analytics competitors offer similar solutions or free or at a cheaper cost. While competitors solutions are limited and not nearly as efficient; they get the job done in certain marketing applications.

  • It happens sometimes that the Krux console is a bit slow and that some segments are not processed correctly.
  • The conversions are not included in the marketing campaign section. We see the impressions, clicks, CTR, but not the number of conversion of a specific campaign.
  • Have better reporting features. We always export the raw data and process them through Python scripts and combine them in an Excel spreadsheet to visualize the data.

Likelihood to Renew

Adobe Analytics9.8
Based on 29 answers
While there are other tools out there, customers who truly take advantage of Adobe SiteCatalyst's capabilities are likely to renew. Those only using a portion of its functionality may consider switching to Google Analytics, which has a simpler interface and often a cheaper cost.

Usability

Adobe Analytics6.8
Based on 9 answers
Not as intuitive as with Google Analytics. There are a lots of gotchas. Tool is best suited for analysts, not casual users. If you know what you're doing, it can be extremely powerful. The usability is getting better, for example, with their drag and drop calculated metrics builder and segment builder, but there is a steep learning curve overall to really know what you're getting with your reports.

Reliability and Availability

Adobe Analytics9.0
Based on 5 answers
Adobe SiteCatalyst has a good up-time track record, but there are cases in which the interface reports a "Network Acceleration" issue, which can be frustrating. There are also times when data can be "latent" for customers, but most of these cases are due to spikes in traffic or temporary server issues.

Performance

Adobe Analytics8.5
Based on 4 answers
For the most part, Adobe SiteCatalyst reports work ok, but there are cases in which reports take a long time to return. These cases are usually when too much data has been stored in Conversion Variables (eVars).

Support

Adobe Analytics5.7
Based on 9 answers
Customer service has always been the Achilles heel for this product. Support is often slow to respond, if at all. Account management has seemed to get better recently.

In-Person Training

Adobe Analytics3.6
Based on 3 answers
Myself and others have found the in-person training ok, but not outstanding. Trainers are good at explaining how to use the product features, but sometimes lack "real-world" experience on how to use the product as they are people who have often not previously been web analysts. There is also a shortcoming in company-provided training on advanced uses of the product. The implementation training is very good.

Online Training

Adobe Analytics8.0
Based on 4 answers
The online training for Adobe SiteCatalyst consists of short product videos. These are ok, but only go so far. For a while Adobe charged a fee for this, but recently made these available for free. There are many great blog posts that help users learn how to apply the product as well.

Implementation

Adobe Analytics8.0
Based on 7 answers
The success of implementations depend primarily on the solution design, and also on the ability to work with developers to get the solution implemented correctly. This is not an aspect of the product per se.

Return on Investment

  • It had positive impact in terms of providing detailed audience lists, which made it possible to hit better ROI by delivering cheap conversions
  • It gives a lot of information about landing pages performance, which helps us decide to which pages to concentrate the traffic
No photo available
  • I don't have specific figures to share, but with Krux we where able to do external acquisition. Since we have a limited budget, before having Krux we couldn't launch any campaigns as they where too expensive and the CPA was too high. The retargeting businesses were not optimizing the campaigns enough.
  • We are able to identify our clients that are the most at risk and call them to assist them in the use of our product. This will help to reduce our churn rate.
