Adobe Analytics is very well suited for medium to large e-commerce companies. If you are looking to get a better, more detailed view of your audience and how they interact with your brand across multiple channels, then Adobe Analytics is a great tool for that. Smaller companies with a limited reach may not find the return they are looking for with such a robust tool.

Tealium iQ

Tealium developed its tool with the marketer in mind so that they can manage the process. The way a tag is deployed for testing and the amount of involvement needed from information technology are key points to evaluate. There really isn't a tag management scenario that Tealium does not cover well.

Pros

  • Adobe Analytics makes it very easy for anyone to quickly get in and get the information that they are looking for and pull a report if necessary.
  • Adobe Analytics allows us to tag thousands of events that we want to track and then see the data that is tracked based on these events. The set up is lengthy, but incredibly worth it once completed.
  • The audience segmentation tools in Adobe Analytics are great. We are able to get an incredibly detailed view of our customers and how they interact with our brand across our many channels.

  • Technology: Tealium continues to improve the iQ solution rapidly based upon the feedback of existing and new customers. Tealium seeks the customer feedback to push the solution forward in new and exiting ways that delivers value and flexibility to customers.
  • Customer Service: Tealium has been able to maintain a high level of customer service despite the rapid growth of the company. This is a testament to the organization of the company and their ability to attract the right talent to manage that growth.
  • Customers: Tealium is managing more tags than its competitors combined and the strength of the customer community creates a rising tide of ideas which helps Tealium move the solution forward while inspiring new ways for customers to leverage the toolset.

  • No proper governance on all the dashboards, users creates dozens of dashboards and leave it on the server with 100s of versions.
  • Overall implementation is cumbersome and time-consuming.
  • Need proper tagging on all of your platforms as well as all hits and instances.

  • Dynamic updates of rules, instead of manual imports of CSV.
  • Better multilingual support.
  • Lookup tables should be able to set values from other variables, not just plain text.

I give the rating of a 4 just because it seems more like a process that is failing. Any time I have put a request in, they have taken days, sometimes weeks, to get back to me and even then, the issue may still persist. I believe this is the biggest weakness of the Adobe Analytics tool and has a lot of room for improvement.

In-Person Training

It was a one-day training several years ago that cost the organization several thousand dollars. There were only about 10 people in the training class. Adobe tried to cram so much information into that one-day class that none of our users felt like they really learned anything helpful from the experience. Follow-up training is too expensive

Alternatives Considered

There is no competition. Adobe Analytics is superior in all aspects. If you want something free that will solve some marketing issues than go with Google. If you want to market your products and services and easily manage data, campaigns, audience, ROI, employee use, targeting, segmenting, positioning, budget, increase conversions and users, than go with Adobe. Bottomline: if you want to make money off of online marketing Adobe is the only way
