Adobe Campaign is well suited for enterprise-level marketing communications. It can manage and deploy large volumes of emails very efficiently. Workflows can allow multiple touches, staggered sends, and segmentation to occur all within one delivery if needed. Interactions and reporting can happen in real time or near real time if needed. When integrated with the rest of the Marketing Cloud, Campaign becomes even more powerful as platforms like Analytics and AEM can have functionality brought directly into Campaign for more effective content creation and reporting.

This should be the first piece of technology purchased if you're firing up an ABM-ABE program. After setting up a process you want to focus on metrics first.However - Make sure your data is cleaned up first! No, really! If you don't have that fixed, you don't want to start this yet.

  • Useful interface – Adobe campaign presents everything Adobe style, which is easy-to-use, easy to understand the information that's presented toward you.
  • The information is there when you need it – the program shows you exactly what you're looking for, and everything is at 100% accuracy. It was the driving force in helping us decide where to move next.
  • The program is always updated, and the customer service is always helpful; we never ran into any problems working with their team whenever we had a question.

  • Enables ABM-focused analytics in SFDC. Helpfully puts many things into SFDC-native fields to enable cross-object reporting, alerts, workflow, etc.
  • Account-level reporting - sent right to my reps inboxes based on segment.
  • Doing a lot to help automate plays, as well as thought leadership to consistently give the market new ideas on how to do those brilliantly.

  • Software can be finicky and sometimes feels like there are bugs that still need to be worked out.
  • Certification process is a mess.
  • Training on this product can be dramatically improved.

I would say that generally the knowledge of the support team we work with is good, great even.I can't say that they seem to be very interested or involved in trying to make the product work best for us.They do what needs to be done, and they do it well - but not really going the extra mile.

Alternatives Considered

We used to use Experian, or CheetahMail as it's referred to. Overall with the cost of deployment and training there is not really a way of going back. Given the chance, we probably would have saved ourselves the cost and would have stuck with an SAAS agreement with either Experian or an equivalent.That is not to say that Adobe's Neolane is a bad product, in fact it's a fairly good product. However it needs a lot of polishing to become the all round pack it should be.

LeanData was the only alternative that we evaluated. They had a similar lead-to-account match functionality, and it looked like it would work as well as what Engagio could do. This was the primary feature we were looking at from them, and they did have a larger "suite" of functionality that we didn't review. However, the cost for the LeanData's lead-to-account match was not much less than the full Engagio suite, with all the additional analytics, so it was a fairly easy choice.

Return on Investment

  • It's driven up our sales/clicks 100%. Now that we're able to target our audience and what drives them, we're able to determine what the best course of action is with our online marketing campaigns.
  • I really wouldn't say there's much of a negative connotation, except for the fact that everything is updated via Adobe Cloud, so it can get kind of pricey if you're a smaller agency – either yearly subscription, or a monthly fee.

  • My company sells very large software solutions, with a months-long sales cycle and often over a dozen decision makers in each account. The out-of-the-box reporting that we got from Salesforce and Marketo made talking to sales about these accounts difficult. We were looking at individual people and they were looking at a large organization. Engagio helps us speak the same language, and more importantly, it's helped Marketing align our goals to the things sales cares about.
