Adobe Campaign is well suited for enterprise-level marketing communications. It can manage and deploy large volumes of emails very efficiently. Workflows can allow multiple touches, staggered sends, and segmentation to occur all within one delivery if needed. Interactions and reporting can happen in real time or near real time if needed. When integrated with the rest of the Marketing Cloud, Campaign becomes even more powerful as platforms like Analytics and AEM can have functionality brought directly into Campaign for more effective content creation and reporting.

Hootsuite Free is a great choice for businesses that either are just getting into social media as a way of validating ROI before investing more or small businesses with limited social media needs. The free platform definitely has its limits, but for the features and post scheduling visibility, it is a really good way to get started.

Pros

  • The workflow interface is good. You have the ability to design campaigns on a very simple or very complex level depending on what you are trying to achieve.
  • The UI is getting better. Adobe is making Campaign easier to navigate and more like its other solutions across the Adobe Marketing Cloud.
  • When paired with other solutions in the Adobe Marketing Cloud such as Analytics and Target, marketers have access to additional tools that otherwise they would have to look elsewhere for.

Cons

  • The reporting engine needs to be improved. It is difficult to build custom reporting.
  • Adobe Campaign is not meant to act as a CRM, so anyone looking to leverage this from Campaign might be disappointed.
  • It does require some technical knowledge to manage and operate on a daily basis.

  • When scheduling Facebook posts with several photos attached, Hootsuite publishes each photo separately but with the same description, instead of a single post with several photos.
  • If you manage the social networks of a company, sooner or later you will need to pay for the business version since it has more essential functions to boost the publications.
  • The free version is only limited to 3 social profiles.

Its UI is very busy, the result of many years of adding features as the number of social media platforms exploded underneath them, and the lack of platform-specific features (whether for streams, posting, reporting, anything) reflects it. Nonetheless, for free management & quasi-updated stream viewing, it still remains the original and classic. The UI's lackings aren't in its 1990 borders-and-table-bezel glory but rather its not supporting platform specific features (such as image sizing, see my earlier points) which can be so critical. Too many fly-in's and fly-outs as well as the very different designs resulting from left-menu selections for mode really make it an anxious UI to use.

I would say that generally the knowledge of the support team we work with is good, great even.I can't say that they seem to be very interested or involved in trying to make the product work best for us.They do what needs to be done, and they do it well - but not really going the extra mile.

"Help Desk", basically a collection of articles, is clearly outdated and not keeping up with its features set with inaccuracies and errors yet is still the only possible option for finding help. You get what you pay for, they say.

Nothing, it takes 2 minutes to associate accounts (note, social accounts cannot have been associated with any HootSuite previously else it'll deny permissions to HootSuite's request) HootSuite, couldn't be easier.

Alternatives Considered

We used to use Experian, or CheetahMail as it's referred to. Overall with the cost of deployment and training there is not really a way of going back. Given the chance, we probably would have saved ourselves the cost and would have stuck with an SAAS agreement with either Experian or an equivalent.That is not to say that Adobe's Neolane is a bad product, in fact it's a fairly good product. However it needs a lot of polishing to become the all round pack it should be.

The only main platform we have used is the Hootsuite Pro version after using the Free version. The Pro version has many more features and is incredibly useful.
