Pros

  • Useful interface – Adobe campaign presents everything Adobe style, which is easy-to-use, easy to understand the information that's presented toward you.
  • The information is there when you need it – the program shows you exactly what you're looking for, and everything is at 100% accuracy. It was the driving force in helping us decide where to move next.
  • The program is always updated, and the customer service is always helpful; we never ran into any problems working with their team whenever we had a question.

  • Silverpop Engage is an ever-changing platform., which is certainly one of my favorite things about it. In my one year as a user, multiple new programs have been launched. Not to mention they are constantly improving upon their current platform.
  • Silverpop provides an abundance of training and support. As a new user or an experienced one, you will find that you have most all of the resources that you need. My favorite would have to be the online support portal where you receive one-to-one help on any issue you may have.
  • Silverpop provides every customer with its' own relationship manager. This is important for not only on-boarding but providing additional support throughout a company's lifespan with the product. Often times with products like this you find that once you purchase, you are left to fend for yourself, but Silverpop does quite the opposite.

I've never seen a SaaS-based product develop so slowly or be so cumbersome to use. We were willing to give them a try based on reputation and our team's initial demos, but so many of the issues we have with it are larger product problems that we don't see being solved anytime soon. I even sent an email to the CEO a year ago via our account manager to express our concerns and issues in a factual and open manner. Bill never replied. I know the Engage team works hard on the product, but we've cancelled our service and are headed to greener pastures

In my opinion the web training for Silverpop is very comprehensive and the system itself is pretty easy to pick up if you have had past experience with email marketing systems. If this is your first foray into email marketing it may be a bit tougher to learn than the entry level systems like mailchimp or constant contact.

While several of the other reviews have mentioned poor performance in this department, we have only had one situation where the system was down (although it was down for several hours). Silverpop segments its clients on different servers, and I know that the problem we experienced only occurred on our specific server (maybe other servers have had their own problems?) but our service has been reliable otherwise.

Some parts of the system are very quick - others can really crawl. I imagine it depends on overall server strain - but I think part of it can also be traced back to the specific browser being used

I would say that generally the knowledge of the support team we work with is good, great even.I can't say that they seem to be very interested or involved in trying to make the product work best for us.They do what needs to be done, and they do it well - but not really going the extra mile.

Admittedly, I use support a lot, primarily when my users have questions (or problems) that I cannot resolve. Support is always quick to respond (either by email or phone), and do their best to resolve problems or concerns as quickly as possible. There have been times where some problems have taken over a week, but if you talk to your relationship manager, they can usually be escalated and quickly resolved. Overall -- the support is there when you need it, and is available 24 hours.Additionally, there is also the user community and knowledge base for those who want to research on their own.

The online trainings are very detailed (for the most part) and really walk through the entire system. They are a little dry, but they are usually broken up into segments to allow you to skip to the parts you need.

Implementation for the most part went smoothly - and I don't think the hiccups were Silverpop's problem. Understanding our internal need for multiple IP addresses and handling our CRM integration made for some bumps in the road - but that was later, after our first year -- not our initial implementation. The initial implementation went smoothly.

We had evaluated Marketo at the time, but had chosen Silverpop instead. Some people compare Hubspot, but we consider that a different flavor of marketing automation--not apples to apples.
