We utilize Captivate to make learning modules that walk a client through particular assignments, or show to them another arrangement or strategy. It is also appropriate for making content that requires collaboration, or showing off what the client has realized. I believe that it tends to be utilized for anything that you utilize PowerPoint for, and upgrades your introduction both inside and out

Their learning system is unmatched - it really has most of the features we required in our environment which is heavily instructor led as well as online. If they can get their support lined out to provide timely support they will be the leader in this area and I would be able to give them a 10

Pros

  • In under two hours, I had set up Captivate Prime. I had no issues.
  • The menus and alternatives are straightforward and look current.
  • In spite of the convenience, I can do pretty much anything I'd need an LMS to do with Captivate Prime.
  • I can set up client parts and authorizations at six unique levels, including Learner.
  • I can set up outside clients, i.e. those outside my association, and send each of them a connection to give them a chance to set up their own login and secret key, sparing me a considerable measure of time and guaranteeing more noteworthy security.
  • Prime gives me a chance to set up sets of abilities for students to accomplish, and attach them to learning goals.
  • I can transfer courses, recordings, PowerPoints, PDF documents, and quickly and easily utilizing Prime's Fluidic Player.
  • There's a free application to utilize Prime on cell phones.
  • The Reports that Prime produces out of the box are extremely decent, and I can likewise make my own.
  • There are gamification and marking alternatives as well.

  • CSOD does a great job of communicating their road map to their clients. They also listen to their clients and roll those suggestions into the product. Finally they do a great job of providing resources so clients can figure out ahead of time how system updates will impact their own environment.
  • The tool tool itself is very robust. I would have to say that 95% of our use cases have been met by current functionality.
  • Ease of use for the end user. We don't actually train our users on how to use CSOD. They have been able to take training and fill out performance reviews without any training other than what they receive via email. For example, when someone gets assigned to training for the first time, the system automatically emails them. In that email, we include first time use instructions, and they just run with it!

Cons

  • The administration is somewhat costly as it depends on the quantity of clients and does exclude a level expense for a set number as given by different administrations
  • Can't utilize intelligent substance for work helps
  • The setup procedure was long and somewhat dreary, however it was fundamental, they assisted with all the preparation.

  • We would like the ability to change due dates right on the user's transcript for overdue training. We can change to a future date, but we can not add a date that is in the past. We need to go through the proxy enrollment steps, which takes longer.
  • It would be nice if Dynamic Proxys were editable. If we want to change a one-time training to a recurring training, a whole new proxy needs to be created.
  • We would like more options for the fields that are displayed in the org chart and user profile - currently we can select only between Division and Position.

It’s surprisingly slow for a SAAS product. When you click on links, there’s no hourglass or waiting indicator, so it’s difficult to tell if the system is going to respond.

They are doing a great job of creating new features and fixing anything that is broken. However, sometimes you have to wait until the next quarterly update to get something fixed. I also feel like their Global Product Support team could be better. Perhaps hiring additional people would help.

Dig deep on what your current processes are and how they match up to Cornerstone OnDemand functionality. It's not that the Cornerstone OnDemand is bad, it just the amount of work it requires you to do to get your current data to fit into their system.

Alternatives Considered

Captivate Prime is more strong than PowerPoint and has a bigger number of assets accessible than Storyline. The client network for Captivate Prime is doing some inventive and exceptional things. I think that its simple to discover individuals who have either done or are doing what I am endeavoring to do, and they are largely more than willing to give guidance when it is required.

Our shortlist was: Litmus, Success Factors, Absorb, and Bloomfire. Our primary business need was learning management

a) Bloomfire – seemed more of a social networking, knowledge management tool, not really for learning management and so was eliminated.

b) Our initial choice was Success Factors, but we couldn’t come to terms on the contract. They weren’t willing to work with us on contract language for future purchases. Workday (who we use for HRIS) used Success Factors as their LMS at the time, but I understand it's since been decommissioned.

c) We didn’t know about Cornerstone at the time we selected Success Factors, but would have picked them otherwise. We learned about them after we had ruled out Success Factors. We ended up choosing Cornerstone as it had the best integration with Outlook and the highest capability to integrated with our HRIS (Workday) and to customize. You can change the display of the interface and put things where you want to go. It is highly customizable for branding and business
