Adobe Captivate Prime

We utilize Captivate to make learning modules that walk a client through particular assignments, or show to them another arrangement or strategy. It is also appropriate for making content that requires collaboration, or showing off what the client has realized. I believe that it tends to be utilized for anything that you utilize PowerPoint for, and upgrades your introduction both inside and out

SuccessFactors Talent Solutions

Positive: Great advantage is when using Recruiting, Performance Reviews, Goal management, and Training for your employees. The need for real-time updates and adjustments is imperative in the world of human resources.Less Appropriate: The app is currently not up to par and would be a great asset once they update and release more features.

Pros

  • In under two hours, I had set up Captivate Prime. I had no issues.
  • The menus and alternatives are straightforward and look current.
  • In spite of the convenience, I can do pretty much anything I'd need an LMS to do with Captivate Prime.
  • I can set up client parts and authorizations at six unique levels, including Learner.
  • I can set up outside clients, i.e. those outside my association, and send each of them a connection to give them a chance to set up their own login and secret key, sparing me a considerable measure of time and guaranteeing more noteworthy security.
  • Prime gives me a chance to set up sets of abilities for students to accomplish, and attach them to learning goals.
  • I can transfer courses, recordings, PowerPoints, PDF documents, and quickly and easily utilizing Prime's Fluidic Player.
  • There's a free application to utilize Prime on cell phones.
  • The Reports that Prime produces out of the box are extremely decent, and I can likewise make my own.
  • There are gamification and marking alternatives as well.

  • Visual organization chart and directory. This helps people connect easier and faster and provide a quick snapshot of the entire organization. Any headcount discrepancies are seen immediately and it allows business owners to inform HR and adjust/discuss as appropriate. We have many remote based employees and the org chart helps drive better connectedness.
  • Workflows. Workflows for approving changes and goals are very helpful in monitoring and auditing key business decisions. The workflows are easily customizable and gives employees a clear path of where a decision like promotion, job change, etc is in the approval chain. This reduces the need to send emails around for approvals - now everything is captured in one place and pulling reports provides an easy audit that all updates have been made.
  • Customizable performance forms. For our business, we did not want a overly complex process to enter goals, provide performance feedback, etc. The PM module was flexible in the changes we could make to capture the core info we wanted and not be stuck with a forced form structure that would include elements we did not want.

Cons

  • The administration is somewhat costly as it depends on the quantity of clients and does exclude a level expense for a set number as given by different administrations
  • Can't utilize intelligent substance for work helps
  • The setup procedure was long and somewhat dreary, however it was fundamental, they assisted with all the preparation.

  • The bonus planning module is cumbersome and overly complex to administer and program each year. It is not intuitive - for example, the administrator must manually calculate the bonus targets outside of the system and input them manually because SF is not intuitive enough to do the calculations on its own.
  • The talent management suite was in its infancy when I started using it. It has had been developed and fine tuned quite a bit since then but is still not as intuitive and easy to administer as other talent management tools available in the market place.
  • SF is a hierarchical based system, like others on the market. This presents difficulties when dealing with a matrixed organization. The person who is planning the compensation or performance mgmt is not always the one doing the review or familiar with the employee. There are work arounds but they are manual and are affected by any changes made to the data system that is used to feed SF.

Well, first of all it's a huge decision. We've spent years now implementing and tweaking our performance management system, so there would have to be something pretty major for us to drop all of that and go in a new direction. That being said, we're also very happy with our product, the way it functions, the way our users have grown accustomed to its design, and the support that we receive in moving forward every year.

The goals module could be a little more straightforward in terms of aligning and linking goals. The employee central is relatively new, so it's been a little buggy and we've had to use workarounds. However, overall I am very satisfied.

If you had asked me before the summer, I would have rated them 10/10 for up time. I am not sure if it was due to the SAP acquisition or not, but we had quite a few significant issues over the summer. Their servers have been bombarded. I know they are setting up new data centers, so some of these issues are supposed to go away. We have had more downtime than I think is acceptable, especially based on past performance.

We had some slow downs in last 6 months because of the server issues. They were experiencing load balancing issues. In previous years we have not had problems. We do batch our appraisals into one time at the end of our fiscal year which is June.

I would rate the support for Employee Central much higher - 9/10. It is a new product and they want people to be successful. For other modules, tech support is abysmal. They made some changes over the summer and last fall and it was really challenging. Their people did not understand the product and they would take an eternity to get back to you. They would make changes that effected other areas of product and they were not aware of it

It's great. Whenever we've asked for in person training, it's been very tailored to our needs. There's a lot of good discussion before hand in preparation.

In reference to the implementation of Employee Central, the consultants were less familiar with certain aspects of product as it's new. I would have liked them to have better handle on all aspects of product as there were some things we had to go back and change. They were however helpful and open to discussion all the time. They were very accessible to us.

Alternatives Considered

Captivate Prime is more strong than PowerPoint and has a bigger number of assets accessible than Storyline. The client network for Captivate Prime is doing some inventive and exceptional things. I think that its simple to discover individuals who have either done or are doing what I am endeavoring to do, and they are largely more than willing to give guidance when it is required.

We looked at Oracle/PeopleSoft, iVantage, SAP and Workday.
Success Factors was only one we looked at for both performance and compensation management.

We felt Workday was very good for HRIS, but that iVantage (our current system) was adequate in that area and Workday would have been cost prohibitive. We felt that the compensation and performance management capabilities of Workday don’t hold a candle to Success Factors.

Return on Investment

  • Positive by permitting cross-utilitarian learning.
  • Certain procedures are speedier on the grounds that there are simple/short learning recordings for all to watch.

  • It's difficult to tie performance reviews to ROI, especially at my company because our talent initiative is only one of 8 things going right now. The biggest positive impact though has just been the changing expectations. We went from a company that did not conduct performance reviews, to rolling out a program to every salaried employee (executive management included) in about four years. There is a genuine mindset change that has occurred. Performance reviews are now a part of the normal, year-end process and people think about their goals throughout the year. Teams conduct strategic goal planning sessions, individuals are engaged in employee develop opportunities. What percentage has that contributed to our EBIT for 2013? I don't know. But I certainly believe it's had a huge positive effect. Overall our company's stock is up 50% from when I started here five years ago, and last year was our highest year of EBIT ever (and we've been around for 130 years).
