If you have a rather large budget and/or several clients to take advantage of the AMC, you would likely benefit from its all-in-one solutions. There are a myriad of excellent tools for digital marketing professionals to take advantage of within the suite, and creating a campaign becomes much more manageable for collaboration and execution through to reporting thanks to the suite's vertically integrated nature.

The Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform is well suited for companies looking to deploy and automate Marketing and Sales communications in general but where it shines is in the scenarios where you need a cross platform solution between the Sales and Marketing Clouds because your need involves either capturing data in the Salesforce CRM (email metrics, leads, etc.) or using some of the CRM data as part of the campaign itself (i.e. segment your audience, dynamic email content with CRM data fields or logic).Its weak point is the web tracking capabilities if your web tracking needs go beyond displaying some charts of visits and visitors (aka use web metrics as part of your email automation, lead scoring, etc.)

  • Customization power - through the available AMPScript language you can really take the customization to the next level for all your data capturing, tagging and reporting needs.
  • Intuitive interface - it offers a good user experience for its users whether they are seasoned developers with direct access to code or less technical folks that prefer drag and drop or WYSIWYG editors.

However, creating straightforward reports/dashboards and sharing them with different groups is not a strength of Adobe Marketing Cloud.

What took weeks for us to develop will now take days, maybe even hours. Journey Builder is a game changer, and its incorporation into the IMH all but guarantees our commitment to it.

I think the tool is easy to use, protects a company from the spam legislation and manages subscribers very well. It is simple to create a non-complex email. I like the survey function on the email tool as well. Overall usability is quite easy and no necessary to have an IT background or extensive knowledge to use. It is helpful, though, to have an understanding of HTML for formatting at this point.

Upgrades and timing of the upgrades were communicated well and planned during off hours for our work. If we did have a campaign scheduled during that time, it would kick-off after the system was back active. There were a few unplanned system down times, but it was a rare occurrence and those times were also short in duration.

Exact Target performs well and is relatively easy to learn. It handles subscriber management well, and is easy to organize lists and segregation of those subscribers. Emails are easy to classify and group together for re-use or resending to different demographics of the recipients. The product is reliable, and metrics of the campaign results are easy to obtain and interpret.

The follow-up is timely and the online help actually answered most of my questions and gave information that I needed without having to file an actual help ticket with the support desk. It is also nice to be able to email or CALL (with real people) for support, when needed.

Easy to implement, with simple emails and solutions initially created. More advanced usage of the tool and more advanced subscriber attribute usage was implemented during later phases when the knowledge of the tool increased. Monitoring success and results of email campaigns were done at a high level initially, but not fully used until the tool and email marketing as a whole was better understood in the corporation.

If you are an enterprise, there is simply no comparison. The sampling in Google Analytics will lead you astray. The lack of pathing will leave you unaware of how people navigate. You will essentially be making all of your decisions based on bad data. There's a stunning lack of customization. My internal stakeholders saw the difference immediately. Rather than trying to make guesses and inferences, I was able to provide hard data and back it up with many more pieces of data that backed my conclusion. The insights we gained from the first month of tracking were of greater value than the prior year of Google Analytics. I identified key areas of improvement that are now driving our content strategy.

I think this is really a preferential solution. There are other great ones on the market that offer different functionality or extensions. It depends what the specific organization wants and needs, but, of course, we think of Pardot, ClickDimensions, Marketo, and Act-On right away. It is comparable and exceeds in some respects. For example, I think there is a great design ability that is user-friendly. It is not just an email service provider. It is fully functional with other marketing automation functionality within the Salesforce Marketing Cloud. This is just one exciting aspect that a business can leverage to better nurture their leads.

We had approximately 20,000 recipients of most email campaigns, with some higher amounts and some smaller campaigns. The tools is easy to use and the recipient list size is really not a factor in the complexity or work to create and email campaign. Our campaigns could just have easily been sent to many more people, with virtually no additional work.

  • Growth - We now know where to focus our efforts. This has led to increased conversion and an increased conversion rate as we figure out exactly where our effective content is.
  • Spend - We are concentrating our resources where they matter. We've learned that some of our web properties are not paying dividends and so can we can safely reduce spend in those areas.
  • Content - We are finding the right content to draw in visitors and get them to convert. We're also finding the shortcomings. This is going to be key to reducing our bounce rate.
